July Fourth Celebration

Celebrate Independence Day at Naval Station Great Lakes July 3rd and 4th, 2009. Activities all day like Kid Zone, food, carnival and more Music venues include, but not limited to: Tantric and Halestorm on July 3rd and Mellencougar and Eddie Money on July 4th. Fireworks above the clock tower on July 4th (one of the biggest displays in the area). Naval Station Great Lakes is OPEN to the PUBLIC all day for these events. Come and enjoy.

I so wish I could go, unfortunately I have to work. Newbie on a job gets all the 'interesting' duty. It would be awfully nice to be that close to the polywog, even though there would be no visiting, I know.

My husband is in basic training now; I wonder if he'll at least get a phone this weekend. I wish I could go though!

I have a Sailor friend of my sons stationed in GL and would love to surprise him and attend. My own lad is on board the USS George H W Bush. This young man has stayed at our home several times and I feel he is like just another son. Do I need to get a special pass or anything. IOops -see there's a website - I'll check that. This should really be a morale booster for our Sailors.
