Anyone with a child leaving for Great Lakes the week of May 5?

Happy Mothers Day everyone! Pam thanks for the welcome....it does look like a fun group here! I may have a ton of questions, but to start with I was wondering if anyone knows what really went on last week? I have heard that they didn't start boot camp until Friday, and I also heard that they would start as soon as they formed a group of 40. Also (this may sound really dumb) is this their first day of church?

gives you alist of the whole 9 weeks. and yes they did have the opportunity to go to church today. as like every sun they are there. as for the number's theyneed for starting up a group i dont know but they do hold them till they get a whole division started up.... but usually only may take a couple days. just like if you look at the other moms here and count up there is like 10 or better just from here. My son Bill left May 6th. We live in Omaha Ne. Got his box of clothes Friday. So I guess he is on his way to a new life. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all of us Navy Moms.

Hey ladies there are 17 of us mom's whose son's / daughter left for great lake's this week. That is so awesome. We could get together a very nice dinner for navy mom's on thur before PIR

I think we should definitely get together Thursday night before graduation. BTW, I have GL weather on my desktop, too. So we're right there together, girl!
