also your son just started so it took almost a week for some moms and even longer for other to gt the form letter but you can call his recruiter and get his address....

Letter came 10 days later.

I finally got my son's form letter today (after 9 days!!). It also says July 3rd graduation. We'll see if they ever update the graduation website.

you know i really feeling a july 3rd PIR want that be nice sporting around a new sailor and watching the fireworks ? I can't wait ..... Oh Tina see you beat me back to the computer....lol i knew i would be late getting home.lol

I guess it will be July 3. I wonder if they'll get liberty on Friday (maybe all day?!?) or if they'll have to train. I don't know that they'll be allowed out late enough to see fireworks:

"Liberty expires at 2100 in the Sailor's berthing compartment, on Friday and Saturday evenings, and 2000 on Sunday evening." (from the rules for recruits on liberty page of the graduation site). They have to be back at their ship (which means they have to walk from the front gate) at 2100. Probably no fireworks for our boys.

We'll have to change our pre-PIR dinner to Wednesday night. You're gonna have to change your hotel reservations, too.

I'm still waiting til the graduation website is updated.

BTW, I am changing my address labels to last name, first name, MI like it says in the form letter. I've already sent 10 or so incorrect ones. I hope there is not a recruit whose name is Palmer James because he has been getting James Palmer's mail!!

Unless they update the graduation website in the next 4 minutes (4 pm Chicago time), I bet it's going to be next Friday before we know anything official. Not that I won't check Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday! Who I am trying to kid?!? You know I'll check Saturday and Sunday.

someone told me Tina that they would have an extra day of liberty.... they will haave to get up earlly still for PT but should be free after that .....as for being out late enough for fireworks you are probably right... I didnt think about the curfew....sucks!!!!!!!!
The PIR dinner may be more fun to have on fri like at lunch or something cause we want be leaving here til wed morning ( not early) and may not get there early enough for a dinner... we will see...

wow amazing!!! Girl i am sooo glad you come up with some of the best Idea's...... Well if we do it wed night then alot of moms aren't going to be able to make it . Thurs will be graduation and everyone is going to be so into their sailor( i know i will ) and then fri will be more leisure and we can take our sailor's too....

Maybe brunch before we go get them would be better. The last thing they're gonna want to do is sit around with a bunch of old ladies in a restaurant. They are going to want to go somewhere, do something or just go back to the hotel, take a 30-minute shower and nap for 5 hours!
