Navy For Moms

Does anyone have a son or daughter that left on May 7th for GL?Div 238 Ship11?I received the "Box" with all his belongings, I cried my eyes out!! I got his adress from his recruiter and have written every day. He has sent home 1 brief note long with a standard navy boot camp info sheet wishing me a Happy Mothers Day (Boo-Hoo) and that everything was ok

Michelle and Beth,
I think your sons will graduate on the same day as my son. I'm trying to set up a database for our PIR group. If you don't mind us knowing, what city and state are you from. Also, are Jason or Sean celebrating a birthday or anything during bootcamp? We are going to try to get all the moms to send cards on special days.
If you want, you are welcome to email me directly at mrsmcgee@aol.com.

Hi Michele - my son Adrian is also in this division. I received the same form letter with the 3 lines at the end. I have not received anything since. My son has never been much of a letter writer but I remain hopeful lol. I'm SO glad I found this website!!

Hi Tina, thanks for the post. I am in Cypress, CA. Adrian had his birthday about a week before he left, but I'd be happy to participate in any other birthday "card givings"!! I went and checked out the group and saw that some people seem to be aware of their recruits' graduation day. We have not received our packet yet, so are still a bit in the dark :(

Hi Kim, I phoned my sons recruiter this morning to see if he knew grad dates for div 238, ship 11. He left me a message that they are graduating on Thurs July 3rd. Usually it's on a Friday but has changed due to the holiday. I will call him again tomorrow to verify this info. I have already made reservations @ the Navy hotel for that weekend and the 11th weekend because I wasn't sure. If you call make sure you have time I was on hold for about 15 min. You can cancel any reservation before 6pm the day before arrival. I was so excited when I heard this news as I still have not heard from Jason, maybe tomorrow...
Miss him so much. I swore the 1st thing I'd do when he left was clean his room from top to bottom but I can't bear to change a thing. His clothes & stuff are right where he left them, if it was clean it wouldn't look like his room.Take care Michele

lol Michelle, I hear you. I HAD to clean my sons room because it was turning into a science experiment, but it wasn't easy! I was packing his clothes and when my husband tried to help, I kind of yelled at him - I've been a bit emotional.

Hey kim - OK , you are right I just need to get in there and clean that MESS up!!
I actually received "2" letters from Jason today. It was A total meltdown relief for me just to hear from him and see his "handwritng". He's saying that it's not easy , he gets up at 2:30 am to "iron" his uniforms, he's passed all his phsyicals, swimming test, so far, the shots were a killer, He called it the Peanut Butter Shot , so thick the stuff lasts for days! I'm sorry but some of things he said made me LAUGH!!

He said he ACTUALLY went to church on Sun and" LOVED IT "!!! I taught CCD to him at our church for SIX YEARS he was always the little Rebel!! I LOVE It!!

Graduation will definately be July 3rd, they will have Thu, Fri Sat, Sun OFF on LIBERTY !!!

I CANNOT WAIT!!l Love YOU ALL MY NAVAL MOMS!!!

Hi Michelle - just got back from vacation and got a letter - finally! My son seems to be doing well and can't wait for graduation. He is the "guide"/flag carrier and seemed happy about that. I sent him postcards from vacation every day and he still wants more pictures! I wasn't sure if they would have a place for them at first, but apparently they keep him going. I can't even imagine my son ironing anything, but he mentioned that also. Can't wait to see everyone on the 3rd, I should be making flight reservations today.

Love and Prayers to all :)

Hi Michelle, my name is Bev and my son Josh is in div 238, ship 11 also. I've received two "real" letters so far. I usually get them on Thursday. I swore that I would clean Josh's room when he left, but like you, I don't have the heart to move anything. He bought a really nice fleece zip jacket that has "Navy" embroderied on it that I have been wearing. I live in Phoenix, so we really don't need a jacket, but it makes me feel closer to him. He'll probably kill me for wearing it.

Hi Bev- I know what you mean, I have a pond in my backyard, every morning I make acup of coffee, sit out there, feed my fish, say my prayers for my son Jason and mediate. It is the most peacful part of my day. Jason always played Varsity soccer in High School. I wear each morning his huge, oversized, jacket with his number and name on it. It makes me feel like he's giving me a hug each morning, it's precious! And gives ME so much comfort!!

I was at work today and received my 1st phone call from Jason in 3 weeks, It was a 2 min rushed conversation but I was so relieved to hear from him. The most important thing he told me was that he loved and looked forward to the daily letters I sent him, they are his most uplifting moments to hear from home and fiends. He missed us and love us. That's all I need to hear. I reminded him he's almost halfway done and to keep up the great work!!
