When to expect the first phone call in boot camp???

Really three weeks??? For some reason I thought it would be between 2-3 weeks. Ugh, guess I should just sew my cell phone to my wrist!!!

Over the next 8 weeks your cell phone is going to be your best friend.... The first real call usually comes about the end of week three or the first of week 4. They are few and far between. We got a total of 3 calls and then one more when he completed battlestations to say "I'm a sailor". They have to earn the phone calls and it is up to the RDC's to let them make them.

Do you know how long processing takes? Nate arrived in GL last Thursday (5/29). Might he have started his boot camp on Monday? Given this, would the phone call come in 3-4 weeks from when boot camp begins or when he arrives in GL?

Hi Darla, His bootcamp will start when they have enough recruits to fill his division. It usually starts within the first to second week after he arrives. Did you receive the "box"?

No "box" yet...not really looking forward to that. So PIR happens 8 weeks after they get enough to fill his division? So he could be in GL for 10 weeks before he graduates, right? And the first phone call could come as late as 5-6weeks after he arrives?

Hi Darla, my son Dustin also went to Great Lakes last Thurs, 5/29. The box came yesterday. No address yet tho. I called the recruiter's office but Dusty's recruiter is out of he office and no one else can access the info

I got the box yesterday too. Ugh. I'm sorry you can not get Dusty's address, I hope the recruiter is in the office soon. Won't we get a letter soon with their address? Once you get Dusty's address we'll have to compare notes to see if they might know each other. I hope your doing okay.

I will definitely do this. Thank you for suggesting. News update: I just got off the phone with Nate's recruiter. He was able to give me Nate's address. So this must mean he is finished with processing?
