Navy For Moms

Ladies I am worried about us getting out of touch when this boot camp thing is over and done... This is a place for us all to gather when it is over and to keep in touch with one another... Because i don't know about you all but that to me would be like loosing a family member. so let's all stay together....Plz and we can have like reunion's once a yr just to be together... and talk about old time's...hehe

Hey Maegan,
I personally didn't think Norfolk was that bad, but I had my husband with me, so I felt safe whenever I was there visiting my son and daughter-in-law. However, both of my daughters (they were young teenagers at the time) hated going there. They loved going to see their brother, but hated that city. It is hard to figure out the highways there, it's very confusing.
Newport News and Hampton, which are very close to Norfolk (and have alot less drugs, hateful people, etc.) seem to be the choice for alot of military families. The military hospital there is excellent, especially for having a baby. My grand-daughter was born there, and they took very good care of mother and baby. It was nothing like the horror stories I had heard about concerning Balboa Hosp. in San Diego 25 years ago when my ex husband was in the Navy and I barely missed that experience of giving birth there.

Jamie is in A school at Great Lakes. He "moved across the street" at 0700 Tuesday morning. He already wants his cell phone, his iPod and the laptop his dad bought him for graduation! He is in BEQ 532 (whatever THAT means -- I guess I have to add to my Navy lingo).

Hey everyone.....where is my sailor?? i feel more like where am i??? My head is still spinning from that roller coaster of a weekend. The tears, the pride, the emotions (and that was just waiting for my baggage at the airport!) I ditto Pam's comment about not getting to meet more of you. We were just so exhausted every night that i hit the sheets and was out. Erin is now in Meridian MS awaiting
A school. She won't start for a few weeks yet she told me. I know it must of been an emotional farewell leaving all her new friends but they are all family now and can keep in touch by computers, phone etc....(just like us). With that said just wanted to let you all know that i'm still here and intend to be here for a long time. Hey by the way ladies i looked into joining the local USO. They are a great organization for those who do not know about them. They do all sorts of things for all of our military folks. I think the website is www.USO.org
Congrats to all the sailors....what a job well done!!
