Navy For Moms

Ok so im not a mom but i am enlisted in the navy and i am currently in the DEP program. My actual ship date is feb 9th of 09 and i have been told they are going to roll me into the next available slot! So my question is how often does it happen that you leave earlier than your actual ship date?? Im getting a little frustrated and sick of waiting.

Can't answer your specific question but I do have a word of advice from my son. He just graduated and is in Special Ops:

Use your DEP time to get in really good physical shape. BC will be so much harder if you come in out of shape.
It depends upon if there are any openings in your job (rate) slot.... Talk to your recruiter or the classifer to see if there are any earlier openings - or ask to be on the waiting list.
Your job rating depends upon when your going unless you change rating's or go unclassified..
I know it does happen my recruit just went in 7/26 He wasn't supposed to go till sept 5th so just use your time wisely, because before you know it you'll get the call and you never know when that will be and if there's things that haven't been done yet, and people you haven't visited you will regret it
thats good to hear!!! i just want to go.. thanks for your help it gave me some hope ill leave sooner.
Along with using your DEP time to physically get in shape, spend it studying. If you haven't been given a book from your recruiter, ask for one. You will need to memorize alot of information and in order to rank up from an E-1 to an E-2 in book camp, you will need to pass a written test and physical test.
WELLL IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!! I LEAVE IN 11 DAYS! I CANNOT WAIT
wohoooooooo Wacey.....Show your Mom this site!
i believe she already has signed up but waiting till i leave to write stuff....
