Navy For Moms

Hi! I was wondering if any body with loved ones in A-school in great lakes has heard anything about christmas break? Do they set dates, do all the schools shut down? Thanks!

Isn't pre-buds in GL "A" schools? Thought someone said 19th Dec - 4 Jan.

Hi Chrystal, My son is in Charleston (Goose Creek, actually) so I don't really know about GL but he's already been told that they won't get to leave for Christmas until 12/23 - talk about cutting it close. Hope he doesn't run into Santa as he's coming through the door - hee hee He also knows that he'll get about 15 days (I think). Let me tell you, with him being 1,000 miles away from home, we are all counting down the days. I'll be glad for him to go through his things and let me know what to keep, throw out or take with him. Hope you all have a very HAPPY HOLIDAYS!! And remember to pray for all those around the world who won't get to come home for Christmas.
Hugs from Houston,
Cindy

We were told the 22nd at 1600 hours. We bought a ticket from Delta and returning him the 3rd Jan.
(We are driving there to cook for Thanksgiving. Working for public schools has an advantage at this time.)

I had no sooner posted this than our son called and said he now leaves on the 19th Dec. We are working hard to change his airplane ticket. Wish us luck.

Hi, my son was in A school in Pensacola last December. They shut down the school for the Christmas/New Years holiday and he could take either Christmas week or New Years week. He chose Christmas which was good since he will be in the Persian Gulf this Christmas
