Navy For Moms

Can anyone tell me what to expect in regards to getting on base for graduation? I have the brouchure that says that gates open at 6:30 am, so should I be there right at 6:30? I obviously want the best seat I can get for pictures, so I'll want to be there early. I was just wondering what to expect at the gates...

Thanks Moms!!!! This is an awesome website...thank you so much!!!!

When I answered it surprised me. We were just babies, I had only been on this site for a week and Wade and Colton had their PIR. I was just thinking about Steph's mom Laurie, she lives in California. I think if I can find her, I will let her know about the California mom's meeting June 22. She was so nice to invite us to prePir dinner. I have to run, but it was like a time machine visit into the past.

Hi Molly,
The hairs are standing up on the back of my neck, I leave tomorrow nite...I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad you are sharing our experience. I do have ONE really big question. The 4 passes. I actually needed 5 my brother will be in Chicago that day but my son would not ask someone to put his name on their list. I was informed by GL that is is to wait until 8-everyone is seated, then he may take an empty seat. Could you please give me some insight.
I can barely breathe this week. Were the tears flowing? I just can't imagine my son eating NEATLY is has always been a messy eatier, never talks-just always too busy eating but messy.. Oh LORD i can't wait, its like the day I gave birth to him, ONLY WITHOUT THE PAIN.....Oh yes about getting there early. I was leaving the hotel by 6am sharp just so we may get a front row seat. Shawn is carrying a state flag....

We took a Shuttle from our hotel, and you pass up all of the inspection process that takes so long.
We left at 7 am and had 3 row seats. Everyplace you sit will have a good view, it just matters how fast you want to be off those bleachers and in your kiddo's arms when they call liberty.
Make sure you all bring all ID's with you.
As for more then 4 I really cant help there( we only had 4) BUT the people behind us had 7. So I know that they let you in if possible. ( i would give it a try)
One thing I thought that was so impressive to watch for, When they say prayer watch all the recruits heads in complete unison bow there heads, man that was so touching.
Diane...............
YOU have a blast, and you think your proud now ? Just watch strangers come up and thank him all weekend long. That is so amazing, when they want to shake his hand.

I am drouling... Thanks for the advice. I have a 2 yr old and I was told to bring her BC and SS card which I have with all of my other stuff. I don't think there will be a problem getting him in. I think the comment about waiting for a sit is a "standard" response... I will definitly look for the "head bow" I am taking a video, don't have a camera but rented one...Thank you...Navy Mom...
I really want to meet his RDCs he writes about them often...I want to shake their hand for taking good care of my son....

You should be able to meet them, but get right on it, because they tend to depart right away.
I think they wait around long enough just to say hello to family.
It is my regret that they were not around after hugging my boy, meeting his friends and family.

You got a letter from his RDCs? Never got one from my son's RDCs. Didn't know they did that.
