Navy For Moms

I just got a letter from my son today and there is this one line that makes me chuckle over and over again...I thought it might be fun to share these if anyone else has any. I considered putting it in context for ya'll but thought it wouldn't be as funny. So, in David Letterman style, I will start with my so far funniest line home from my son was:

"I guess not everybody appreciates ninjas."

I know this thread is years old, but my son is in boot camp and I love these lines! My SR also wrote this... he said "Mom, I couldn't find your questionnaire, but ask my girlfriend, she can answer most of your questions." (Sigh) Good thing I love his gf!
Hi Jacqueline, I loved your idea could you please send me a copy of the letter? My son leaves for BC on Nov 5th. and I know I will have a ton of questions.
Thanks, Anne
What a clever mom you are!!!
I had this same problem and developed the same solution! Too funny! Worked tho.
I tried your letter idea, My son just ignored it completely..oh the nerve! He rarely responds to what I ask in letters, usualy just tells me what he wants to. I keep hoping he will ..lol
can you please email it to me cottontail1234@msn.com thanks it sounds like fun for my sailor
I'm attaching a copy of a 'form letter' I got from this site, doctored up a bit to suit my needs. Feel free to use it.
P.S. My son didn't want to reply using the form letters because they didn't fit neatly into the Navy stationary envelope.. so maybe try to print them on smaller stationary than the 8.5x11 sheets. Even though I sent him larger, self addressed stamped envelopes, I never got any of these returned.

I would love a copy of you pre typed letter. If you could email it to me I would really appreciate it. Today is my son's first full day at bootcamp so the journey begins............!!!! Thank you so much!!!
oh please please could i have a copy of that letter ive too been trying to do some letters like that but not sure how to get started my son just left for gl on 7/21/09 michael isn't a writer and he gives very little info. it's like pulling teeth to get the littlest info.lol i need details lol
You may be amazed and astounded at the letters you will be getting! My son wasn't and isn't a great communicator, but boy did he take advantage of those Sunday afternoons to write home! Write him every day, just a little something. Letters from home are pure gold! And hand in there! :-)
