Navy For Moms

These are some lines from letters my son wrote that bought on the waterworks.

" mom,why do you keep telling me how proud of me you are,it brings tears to my eyes and I am trying not to show it in front of the other guys".But I still love hearing it from you.

" And it keeps me driving on,waiting on letters from home"

" mom,I know I gave you some hard times when I was in school, thought I knew it all,but now that I am away from you it made me realize what a great mom you are and i just want to say thank you for putting up with me and caring enough to keep on me about doing the right things.

In his second letter he wrote "send as much letters as you can, I'm doing ok, don't be sad".

Jacqueline, My son also told me to write as much as I can.He said when they do mail call it is just like Christmas only better. He said they get really sad when the mail comes and their name is not called.I cried on that one.So I write him every other day now to make sure he gets as much as I can send.

I am bawling here, I am afraid my son didn't get his first letters last Sunday (2nd week) as I didn't have an address until the Thursday before. My heart is breaking at the thought of them doing mail and him not getting any. :(

Valorie, I was the same way, crying at the drop of a hat; but it gets easier. When he finally gets those letters he will be overjoyed, keep writing him at every opportunity :)

Valorie,
They get mail everyday. They can only send mail on Sunday. So keep writing!

His Jacqueline,,I just wanted you to know that my son (when he was in Boot Camp at Great Lakes) told me to write everyday "but don't make it mushy". I told him "that's what Moms do best". My prayers go out for you and your family and your sailor,,

Hi Jacqueline, sorry it took so long to get back to you,,my sons PIR was 4-27-07,, I attended my niece's coming home from Iraq (she's a sgt with 101st airborne, Ft. Campbell, KY.,) I thought I'd never experience anything like that, but my sons' PIR was beyond description, it still brings a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes,,(I remember he weighed 5 lbs 8 oz,. at birth, his twin bro. 6,,now look at him!!, I could go on and on as I know you can too, will catch ya on the flip side, blessings to you and your brave sailor,,E.
