That's what we're doing, coming into Milwaukee and driving. But we're staying at Courtyard by Marriott. We will definitely be at the meet and greet. What time does your flight get in?

We are arriving around 1000 AM on Thursday, and leaving on Sunday around 130. My youngest is flying solo, because he was coming with his dad, but Dad is unable to make the trip. But the flight times are close, so should be ok. I got a call from Carter yesterday, and he has his orders--Japan, USS Denver. He's excited, and I guess that makes up for all the stuff that went wrong a couple of weeks ago.

He also said he got a package of mail one day that had about 10 letters/cards in it, with all different kinds of dates. Guess it just depends where it gets mailed.

We are all so excited to get there! He's glad we're coming.

I feel for them too, Rhonda. I feel like I should write to them also, but I do well just writing to Josh. I have never been much of a letter writer. I'll see what Josh says, maybe just send him some cards and let him hand them out to the guys that don't get mail. I wondered when their Hell Week was, Josh never said, He did say however, that they may be getting phone calls in two weeks. That's about right if their Hell Week is next week. But my phone will always be at my side, just in case!!

Yes, I asked him to give me a list of those guys who may not have anyone at graduation so I can order some of those graduation packages for them. Also to see if any of the them want to come with us to a Cubs game on Saturday or dinner after graduation.

It is hard enough going through BC with family let alone without and with baggage left from family!

BTW did you get anything for ordering pictures? I did not see anything on that in the "package."

The RTC website says that the recruits can order photos, video, etc. You have time to write and ask him to order copies for you. Bye the way, are you going to the meet and greet at Flanagan's?

We are staying at Navy Lodge--your recruit can make the reservations there for you if there are rooms available.

No, they have to order their pictures themselves. I told my son to get the smallest decent package they had, because we don't need a whole lot of pictures(unless he wanted to give them to his friends). There is supposed to be a form in the package though, if you want to order more. The graduation package thing for the kids sounds like a really good idea. I will definitely ask Josh if there are any he knows or that he's close with that would maybe want to go to dinner or something with us. We'll have to compare names though to make sure we aren't doubling up. LOL Or if he doesn't give me any names, I'll take a couple that you get and send them packages.

Did you figure out where you're staying yet? We're at the Courtyard by Marriott(my husband is a frequent traveler, so he gets points for staying there and I think we got a free night, too) in Waukegan/Gurnee. 5 miles from the base.

I haven't made the reservation yet. I will look there, I was trying to avoid Waukegan, it is just not my favorite area. Of course anywhere near a navy base is usually not a great area! I grew up near there, but now living in CA so I am familiar with the towns.

Since you're not getting in until about 8 Rhonda, you may not make the meet and greet, but since we're staying in the same hotel, we'll have a little meet and greet when you get in. If we go to the meet and greet ourselves it will be early.

You are at a different Marriot. I am at the one Gurnee, you are at the one in Waukegan. Our plane gets in at 8, we won't be o the hotel until later. What time are you heading to the base? We can try for another day or evening....
