Heather, I understand completely. I call my sons EVERYDAY, to see how there day is going. When you get the form letter, it will feel a little bit better. When I received the first phone call I cried my husband did all the talking. Just hang in there IT WILL GET A LITTLE EASIER, I promise.
My daughter was suppose to graduate June 22, but she failed her run by 26 sec. So, they let her call to tell she wouldn't graduate an she is with another group which means new ship an div # an I don't know how to find that is or if she gets to graduate this coming Friday. I'm not sure what to do. Anyone have an idea... Oh,just to let some of you know when they graduate on Friday they get Saturday (liberty) to spend the day with family.

Your SR is most likely in a FIT Division (possibly Ship 4 Div 2347) and will continue to try to pass her run every other day during the week.  This late in training she will not be moved to a division that will have PIR.  When she passes the run, she will then be able to go through Battle Stations-21 with an integrated division and will then be sent on to A School at the next available time.  You may want to join, or check out, the group,  fit program (clickable link).  You will not hear from her again until there is a change in her status, that could mean that she will call to tell you she passed the run and will be having BS-21 or it could mean that you get the "I'm a Sailor!" call.  You will not be able to spend time with her until she is at A School.  She will let you know about that once she is there and knows how the Phases go.

Also, your statement about Liberty is not entirely correct.  Those staying in GL for A School will have Liberty after they check in at the TSC until Liberty expires on the day of PIR (usually on Friday) and daytime Liberty each day of the weekend.  Those flying out to A School will have Liberty from about 10:30 am until Liberty expires on the day of PIR and will most likely fly out the day after PIR (usually Saturday).  If there are flight availability issues, then a Sailor could have Liberty on Saturday and sometimes Sunday as well, but only the Sailor would know his/her flight plans.

Hi all, What time is a good time to arrive for PIR ,I will be in a wheelchair will there be problem with using my own wheelchair? Sorry if this sounds stupid but I am concerned about causing any delays and missing it. I am really about to go into meltdown espeecially after I thought I lost his form letter with all the info.We will be driving from Oklahoma and plan to be there Thursday before.

Yes, use your own wheelchair and you will be able to sit in it in one of the designated areas.  Just locate the one closest to the sign for your Sailor's division.  One family member will be able to sit with you and anyone else will have to sit in the bleachers.  If you use one of the RTC's wheelchairs, then you will be transferred to a chair and then have to wait for a wheelchair afterward.  I'm glad you found your form letter.  You will need that to get the vehicle pass to drive onto the RTC.  Be sure to have your handicapped placard visible from the time you enter the RTC so that you will be directed to the handicapped parking.  The parking garage has been added since I was there and that should make things easier for you than I had when I was there.  I suggest that you arrive early just as I do for everyone.  The gates open at 6:30 and there will already be a line.  The 08/17/2012 TG is a little large, so you definitely want to get in line early.  The recruits/Sailors who assist at PIR are so helpful.

Other groups you may wish to join, or at least check out, are Boot Camp Mom's, PIR Reference Information, and New Members Stop Here.

Yes you can send pictures, but no food something like that, I already got the form letter and I feel so happy that she is doing well.

To all of you that have made it through bootcamp, could you please give me some encouragement? My son left on Monday and I am finding all of this a little more overwhelming than I expected. I am driving myself crazy wondering if he is ok and blaming myself for not logging on to this site before he left because there is so much info that could have prepared him better. He is just out of high school and that was even his first flight. I just miss him and it's only been a few days so please give me some tips to survive all this.

You may want to check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvKAhmgkoj4 and http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433. They will give you an idea of what is happening.

I see you have joined Boot Camp Mom's; you may also wish to join, or at least check out, PIR Reference Information and New Members Stop Here.  Be sure to join the PIR group when you know his PIR date and/or Division number.  There will be information on that in Boot Camp Mom's and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date.

Hang in there, stay busy, and remember, "No news is good news."  If something happens, you will  be called and that is not a call you want to get.

Thank you so much I will check all this out. I am trying to stay busy but it's so hot here in Ga. that it's making it hard..haha. I will hope for no news then because I sure don't want any bad news:)

You are so welcome.  You will find a lot of information and support in the groups I mentioned.

Hi Amanda-- my daughter graduated BC on 7/13!  Just hang in there, the best thing i can tell you is that "no news is good news"  its the hardest part, but they are doing what they are supposed to be doing if you havent heard from them...the divisions will be forming and soon you get your form letter telling you graduation date and the address, i had letters and cards ready to go as soon as i found out this address, get them going in the mail.  i have another one leaving (this time its our son) on 8/1/12 so its possible that our sons will be in the same graduation or PIR (pass in review) group could even hit the same division?!.  I will then have to listen to my own advise! lol you could Face book me and request to become a friend, i will help as much as possible...where are you from, Ohio is where we are from. Tori

Hey Tori, I get lost in the replies on here! I just saw this msg and we are from Atlanta. How do I find you on Facebook? I found out all the graduation info of course but still no letter from my son. This was the end of week three.
