HI! This is my son Andys first sea tour. I know space is very limited so I'm having trouble deciding what to include in his Christmas package. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!!

Hi Pam,
When my husband was in the Navy I would send him things like movies, candy, camera, ipod ,personal DVD player if he doesnt already have them, personal items, maybe a gift card/phone card or two depending on where he is at.I made him a blanket and pillow of his favorite sports team one year. Hope this was helpful.

Thanks Thanks! I remember now how thin the pillows are & how scratchy the blankets were. Great ideas!

My son's past float we sent edibles. The general rule was nothing that melts. They love getting candy, and they love sharing it with all their boatmates. If your son is like mine he forgets alot of personal stuff, t shirts, socks, etc. Your son should be able to give you a list of things allowed on floats and as long as you stay within those guide lines they can have just about anything. I know this seems weird but I looked at it like his first week at camp when he was younger. You can't send things you want him to have but just the things he needs..lol. Hope his float is a huge success and I'll keep him in my prayers.

How about a Rack Pack--my husband wishes they had something like this when he was still in.

My son spent 14 months aboard the Kitty Hawk. His favorites were small things that he could stow. Family pictures and any snacks that were homemade were his favorites.

Not for Xmas, but just as a gift, I got him a book light, and a book certificate. Before he goes on ship duty, he can order a book or music for his iopod.
