DEP 2011
My girl is signing today into the DEP & I don't know where to start! Should she open a checking account in our town or wait and let the Navy handle that?

her best bet would be to get an account with USAA, her pay from the Navy can be direct deposited into it, you dont need to be military to get it, then when she gets to boot camp its all ready and she doesnt have to open a new account. Just my thought on it.

What month is she to leave? There is a group for her to join (and you) to get info and to connect with other DEPers for that month. Most recruits join the Navy Federal Credit Union in boot camp
