Does anyone know anything about the Red Carpet Inn? Is it a nice place to stay?

are you talking about the BC base? I do not no anything about the Red Carpet Inn, but have you check into the Navy Lodge, in Great Lakes? great rates very close also to the base. Tamie

it suppose to be a mile from the base. I have not checked out the Navy Lodge. Is it a good place to stay? I just don't want to get there and have to stay in a bad place. I know nothing about that area.

I only seen the Red Carpet Inn from the street and it did not look too inviting. The Navy Lodge won't be plush but it will be clean and safe and no taxes.

We stayed at the Ramada in Waukegan. The room was clean. But the hotel seemed a bit run down. If I were to do it again, I would stay at the Navy Lodge. I recently stayed at Gateway Inn in Everett, WA which is run by the Navy (next door to the Navy Lodge) and it was excellent with a great rate.

Hi Wanda - We stayed there when my son graduated last August. It is the closest place to stay to the base for graduation. It was clean but nothing special. The PIR meet and greet with other naval families was right located right next door so we were able to walk to it. Don't plan on the continental breakfast unless you like just muffins and donuts.

thanks for all the info. I don't get out of South Carolina much. :o) I think my husband went on and booked us a room there. I just can't wait to see my son. I am counting down the days! Ya'll are great people that really help on this website. Thanks again for all youl do.

I stayed at the Red Carpet Inn...it does not look inviting from the outside, but I found the room to be very clean.

It is a nice place...right down the street from base. The restuarant in front has good breakfast and the guys and gals get together at the lounge in the evenings. No 4 star now...but clean and close.
