FOR MOLLY (WOMEN WHO SERVED WWII)
The Molly Marine statue depicts a female Marine, with the inscription "Free A Marine To Fight." The statue was erected in 1943 and is the only statue dedicated to Marines in New Orleans.
Molly said that her mom was in the WAVES and I searched for history and pictures. I started this in June for her birthday.
UPDATE
My friend Molly is having surgery in December and I was reading her comments about her life and family. Please say prayers for her safe recovery.

When I first say that you had started a discussion, I thought you might be playing around. Then, I though "No, she starts some good serious discussions sometimes". Then, I say "For Molly" and I said "Oh, she is playing around". Then, I came here and saw this - that was sweet and awesome!! How neat to have a Marine Molly statue for all our WAVES !!
What does WAVES stand for??

I realise that her birthday is the same day that we are in Texas and I wanted to start something for her while she is offline. She said in another blog that she has not see WAVES recruitment signs
