My daughter graduates from boot camp this weekend. Any ideas as to what to wear? I know we will be on bleachers. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest comfortable clothes. Check the weather before you pack. I wore dress slacks, sweater and a nice pair of walking shoes (not tennis shoes).

OK, thanks very much. I am really excited to see my daughter. I have been reading some of the tips by other moms and have gotten some good ideas for the weekend itself.

Yes dress comfortable, and definitely check the weather, Great Lakes is horrible weather wise. The day before my graduation it was nice and warm and on the day of my graduation it was in the low 50's being that my family is from Miami... well you can only imagine lol. Also take your daughter to eat somewhere.. as much as i liked the food at boot camp, i was dieing to have "real food" ha ha! Oh yeah also get there early as the line to get in is horrible!

Hey Edgar,
Check pam56's profile: Duluth MN.
Bad weather at Great Lakes is beach weather in Duluth.
Folks in Florida don't really grasp the concept of weather. ;)

Business casual attire sounds just right. Just make sure you have some comfortable walking shoes. You might want to wear something with a jacket you can take off. It gets a little warm sometimes in the graduation hall as people begin to fill it. And by all means, wear something you can sit comfortably in bleachers in. Lots of scooting around, letting folks in and out of the rows. Nothing worse than having to tug and pull on clothes that are too tight, too short, etc. And who wants to be distracted when you are looking at your new SAILOR:-) Have the time of your life. Don't forget the camera and tissues. You need both.

Thanks for the tips. I'm not sure if bad weather is beach weather in Duluth. We don't get too much beach weather any time of year! It can change and get just as nasty as quickly. This weekend they are talking flurries here, so I hope it isn't that bad in Great Lakes. I won't care too much as I'll be too excited to see my sailor. I bet, Edgar, your family had quite a shock being from Miami with the weather. What an eye opener!! Sounds like Great Lakes weather is pretty similar to Duluth's. I am going to bring a camera, but what are your suggestions on a camcorder?
My sailor has already asked me to bring homemade banana bread (her favorite) as she misses "real" food!! I plan to take her anywhere she wants to go to eat "real" food! I plan to wear very comfortable clothes as I am still recovering from back surgery from this summer so I will be in my back brace. I figure sitting on bleachers will do me in if I don't. I really appreciate all your tips and suggestions! Thanks a bunch!
