GROUPS: Listed by Name of US Naval Ships (actual US Naval vessels in service)
Looking for other Navy For Moms members with sailors on the same ship/boat?
Here is a list in alphabetical order by name of ship. List doe NOT include groups with fewer than 3 members and/or groups which have been inactive in the last 8 months. Cllckable links have been provided. Just click on the name of the ship. Please post a comment if I missed your sailor's ship (with a link, if possible). Please note that if your son/daughter is in boot camp, his/her barracks are named after ships. The groups listed below are not Navy For Moms groups designated for barracks (please see groups associated with PIR dates).
This list refers to the REAL thing - with sailors, guns, etc.
You may also find members with sons/daughters on a particular ship in one of the following groups, or start your own - it's easy and fun:
I have listed 170+ groups associated with ships plus the above 5 groups. There are more groups created that are not listed because they have been inactive for the last 8 months. If you have a group that is currently active and would like to have the link to your group included on the above list, please post a comment with the link and/or send me a message.
Checked the information on the ships as they are listed with the Naval Vessel Register. You'll find it quite interesting.

Thanks BunkerBee- can you add:
Hello, my son is on the USS Scranton, would you mind adding it? I am hoping to get in touch with other N4M moms/wives with sons/husbands there. I'm new at this and can sure use the support.
BQB just wanted to say THANKS for doing this.... it's not a difficult task, but certainly a lot of work!!!
Your son is in Boot Camp. It's confusing as heck but the barracks in Boot Camp are called ships. For example, Ship 12 is the USS Triton. I see you are a member your son's PIR group already. You should be able to find other members within that group with sons/daughters staying on the same barrack (SHIP).The real USS Triton has been decommissioned. Here's some information about it.
The list that I have compiled refers to Navy For Moms groups that are associated with ships Active in Commission. The following details the size of our Fleet.
|Ship Battle Forces||Active In Commission|
|Ballistic Missile Submarines||14||14|
|Guided Missile Submarines||4||4|
|Nuclear Attack Submarines||53||53|
|Amphibious Warfare Ships||33||33|
|Combat Logistics Ships||29||1|
|Support/Mine Warfare Ships||29||27|
I didn't run across a group on the Lewis and Clark. Is your son on it? I found the following on the internet. You can start a group for it and/or post a discussion forum inquiring about other moms with sailors on the same boat.http://www.nassco.com/pdfs/NASSCO_LC_Pgm_23438R1.pdf
