Navy For Moms

I have made so many friends here that I can't even remember what 'groups' they're in so I apologize for posting on the 'main' page. I know who my close ones are so I hope you read and respond!...:-) But just had to share!!

He's home! All the way from the airport (albeit 30 mins) he said "I'm home! This is the greatest place on Earth!" I finally got to touch his face and smell his familiar smell. That's my Son!

Mom's/Dads/GFs, etc........wouldn't let me or his GF carry ANY of his bags.........backpack weighted AT LEAST 100lbs plus 2 sea bags.... fussed at me and the GF for trying to help him out. His shipmate that was on the same flight as him, did the same thing with HIS mom.... "MOM, I got it!"

They looked so handsome and proud - leaving GL was very cold so they were in their 'winter' dress'. so handsome and proud. Got to Dallas and it was 68 degrees... LOL. They were dying, in fact packed their pea coats in their checked bags!

Boo pointed out, repeatedly, he has new 'bars'..TWICE. Unfortuntaly, I can't remember (and if I get weird, my "U" key is stuck!) and he's totally passed out!

Sorry to be so emotional. But, again, I have so many wonderful ladies/guys that are my friends, I just had to share.

I'll be uploading (very few) photos of him/me/his GF and his buddy, tomorrow, on my profile.

Love you all.

I cannot wait for the rest of you to see your Sailor......whether it be after BC, A school or whatever.....We all get to see some pics of our Sailors at some point (email, etc.), but tonight, I got to touch his face.... I am very "at peace". I know I have to share him with everyone else, but I was the first to hug him after months and months.....so, I'm good. I'm...very content at the moment....He's snoozing.....Sweet thing.....

Thanks Kell.....trying to remember to breath. He laughs at me because I just stare at him all the time! Every 5 mins it's "I love you Mom. I'm so glad to be home!" :-)

Thanks Julie! I can always count on you!! He slept and slept this morning, then he ate and ate ate (his requested meal was fried pork chops, rice and homemade gravy!) :-)

What's the word on Adam these days?

Pics are posted on my page!

Its great to have them home! Nothing like seeing your sailor walk out in his blues! Makes a momma very proud! Enjoy him while you can! The time is too short! Mine is off for SD tomorrow! But he's been home for 2 weeks and hes ready for a new adventure.....some sand and sun....and to be assigned to a real ship! Not a building called a ship! LOL!

And now he's gone. To where?? We're not sure. His orders changed in less than 48 hours of his deployment time. He made it to Norfolk, but haven't heard from him since 1:30 this morning. He said they'd fly out at 11 this morning, but haven't heard a peep from him. So, I don't know where he went.

I was very disturbed when he got to Norfolk. The contact there said he had two options: 1) he could go UA and pay $1700 to fly home, or 2) take the flight to italy and hook up with the USO once he got there and wait for updated orders. I would think that the Navy would have a contact there or somewhere to meet up with our sailors instead of handing them off to the USO.....Anyone else have that experience?

We did enjoy our time together and I know it's selfish to say, knowing that some of you only get a couple of days, but 3 weeks just wasn't long enough....had to share him with too many folks....
