Navy For Moms

We have the first group of HMs at San Antonio. They arrived 4/9/11. This discussion group will work to find answers to all questions for the new facility and try to understand the system on the Army base. Welcome to all of those who have sailors at San Antonio for HM A school in San Antonio!

Thanks for starting the thread.

Sure thing. Now we just have to find information to fill it with! I do plan to attend graduation. I got to hear that there were 3 stages to liberty from Ryan today. He said that they are currently phase 1 - which is waht you mentioned. Liberty on the weekend, but have to be back by a certain time. I can't reca,, the other two, but I know it ended with being able to have liberty away from base overnight for the weekend. Ryan also stated that since A school was not starting yet, that they have some classes (not sure what) 1 a day until 5 pm. I will continue to gather information from him and I hope that the other moms will too!!  I get another chance to meet you in San Antonio! :0)

From what i hear Phase 1 is for 2 weeks uniforms all the time no leaving the base but liberty on the weekend and after classes. Phase two is for about 3 weeks where they can wear civilian clothes and leave the base till 10 pm. Then Phase 3 is they get over night liberty if they dont have school the next day.

I heard the same thing school from 0800 to 1700 it is to funny the way they talk now.

I guess the waiting starts all over again for more information. Like date of graduation from A school.

Atleast we get contact with them. What will I do without letter Wednesday haha

thanks I am a retired MA1 but don't know much about Home A school so thanks for starting the thread.
I guess we will need to change our sign-on names too!
Hello,    4/1 graduating class sent down 30 some corpsman.  Our son is one of them  He has been there for a week now and mentions how warm it is.   Big change since we live in northern Indiana.  I sure do enjoy talking with him and texting him.  Enjoying to hear about his adventures.  Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Hi Kim-

May i ask what he has been doing since school doesnt start for another week?

My son said another 80 or so came down yesterday.

Looking forward to getting to talk to eveyone for the next 15 weeks.

Jennifer

Your son graduated 4/1 and was trensferred to SA? Was there a reason why? My son arrived at GL A school on 4/8, his class is the last class to graduate @ GL. I didnt think they could transfer?

I live in northern Indiana as well. My corps[woman] arrived 4/16/11 and started school 4/26/11.

Hello Billie

My Corpswomen did not start school till this pass Wednsday?  May 4th.. How are you doing?

I'm doing ok.  It's great being able to talk to my sailor almost every day and seeing her on Facebook again! We're aiming for a visit the 2nd week of June. She needs to find out more about when she has liberty before I buy airplane tickets. Since theirs is the first class in San Antonio they made history and people were taking pictures for military publications.

How goes it with you?

Gotcha on FB.. hahah I am doing good.  Melissa the one in AF wants to go out there..  I told her when Lauren gets liberty.. Like you said.  When they know for sure.  hahaha..  I skype with Lauren..  But Melissa and I talk alot.  But it is good to see Lauren is doing good.  I am proud of her.  I told her to keep the newspaper with their pictures in it.  Hope she does.
