We are staying at the Navy Lodge. $65 a night for two double beds and a kitchen, but no pool or other amenities like a hotel. It is however located really close to the base, so I hear anyway. Anyone have any news on how our recruits are doing? Cody's letter this week talked about them taking their swim test. He passed, with some encouragement from the instructor.

Ryan's letter talked about shining his boots. His letter from last week was about the swimming test. He still sounds upbeat which is good!! Hopefully we get a call soon!!! Are you going to the Meet and Greet?

Hi. Im staying at the holiday inn express in waukegan and its $90 a night and its 3 miles from where PIR will be. Is that the same one yall are staying at? What airport are yall flying from? I'm going in to midway... Im arriving in chicago at 4 on thursday... Where n when is meet and greet?

Thats great. Is anyone flying into midway? I got a call today but as i was talking to him my phone died and I didnt have a car charger. I cried for a long time :( but anyways Kyile said I should have got a flight to ohare n i called delta n they were gonna charge me $200 to do it. So do yall know how much further it is and if i will have access to public transportation cuz since i'm under 25 i'm gonna have a hard time getting a rental car. My fiance's parents r supposed to be going but at this point they have made no preparation at all so at this point i assume they are not going. I have contacted her while i was booking my hotel and my flight and my fiance said hes asked them and his mom never responds. Any advice about my transportation issue would be appreciated...

My fiance got the ceremonial guard position :) He called me today and said he got picked! I'm so excited :) We'll be in D.C. and he'll be stationed there for 2 years... did anyone else get a call?

CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is great news!! Does that mean you can go to DC w/ him? Yall can at least be able to see each other more often. Today my son called, but I was at church so my daughter's nurse took the call. He said he's doing OK and like's it (BC). I know another recruit got chosen (Ryansmom0629) for CG. Maybe yall can chat. Anyway Happy for you 2!! If you get to go there, you'll love DC. Several times per year, I take the 4 hr. hike up I-95 to northern Va. for shopping and siteseeing. Love it....

Thanks! I will definitely have to chat with her about. Im planning to move to DC to be close to him. Sorry you missed your call. Kyile said it will probably be 2 weeks before he calls again. Hes their master at arms so he was telling me how he has extra work since hes in charge. Im so excited about PIR! :-) its almost july

HI Sade! My son is the one Chon's mom is talking about! I am so thrilled that our guys got chosen! I have no idea what to expect after this. I think they are leaving on Weds after PIR and it is a very hard bootcamp from what I read through google search. They can do it!!!! I am just so happy for him because he really wanted this after he got interviewed. Ryan is also in Div 247. I am going to add you as my friend so we can chat more!

Yes, we are driving. We wanted to fly, but my father in law is going he doesn't like to fly.
Talk to my son Sunday he is counting down the days! LOL
