Navy For Moms

I have been in the travel business since 2001 and have become somewhat of an "expert" on military fares; especially when it comes to air fares. Many military members don't realize exactly how much they can save if they purchase a "military class" ticket for their leisure travel. This benefit can even extend to their family members, i.e. mom, dad, sister, brother...

Check out my Group discussion or ask a question here...I will try and assist the best I can.

Remember, to check around before purchasing; many times airlines won't offer a military fare on a particular flight. So you might find it cheaper on another site. If you do search on Google for "military travel" make sure that they ask if you are "military traveler" vs an "adult" traveler; otherwise, you won't receive the actual military fare.

Since I am not allowed to advertise or mention my services on this site you can send me a personal message and I can direct you to where to find a good fare.

Is this a joke? Priceline has better prices, and without your inflated fees !!

Hi and thanks for your comment and honesty. Sometimes there are better fares out there...I am a sole-owner of this site so I need to charge a bit extra. I always encourage my clients to shop around. Many times the airlines won't offer military fares on all flights; this may be the case with your search. PLEASE remember that by buying a Military Class ticket (as a dependent or active) allows the airlines to waive any change fees and luggage fees. So, sometimes it is worth paying a bit extra if that is the case.

Thanks again...if you have any suggestions on how to "explain" this better to customers please let me know...I find it hard to really make folks understand that their may be better fares elsewhere, but just in case there is a Military Fare it can sometimes save them alot of money.

FYI - My Sailor just had to pay $130 just to have his trunk shipped back to the base after "leave".
That was in addition to his airline ticket!

That is pretty upsetting. Mainly, the airlines will only waive the fees for regular luggage and or sea bags or over sized parachute type bags. Sometimes it helps to call the airlines prior to arrival, but in this case it sounds as if it might not have mattered. I am trying to work with UPS and FEDX to come up with a military shipping discount
