My HERO left for Boot Camp May 26th DIV 835..anyone else have a HERO Great Lks?

Hello Michael's Mom! My son also left on the 26th from New York, but he is in the Nuke program. Mine is in div. 252. I still have not gotten his box, but believe me, the tears are still flowing. I know that my son isn't in the same division as yours, but still at boot camp at the same time. There was a young man leaving from here (NY) with my son who is in the Seals program. I hope all goes well for all our heros. God bless our young heros and the families who love them.

hey michael's mom..my fiance is in your son's division :) He's doing the SWCC challenge. But I do know there's two other mom's on here that have sons in our div doing the seals challenge :) in the "boot camp mom's" group there's a discussion calling for all the other people who have sons ship 4 div 835

And I'm struggling too..I haven't had a serious breakdown yet..but last night I finally watched a video he left me before he left and just hearing his voice got my waterworks going...but seriously how PROUD are you?! Because I knew I was proud before I left but I am shocked at how I'm bursting at the seams with pride...half the time if I get emotion it's not because I miss him..but because I'm so amazed and proud of what he's trying to do :)

Hi Ducky...that is awesome that your fiance is in Mike's DIV...Mike was going to go SWCC but they talked him into the Seals deal.

I just had another breakdown reading the replies to mine...OF course I am sooooo very PROUD of my Hero...there are just so many emotions going right now...between missing him and being prouder than a peacock...its a mixed bag of ups and downs.

Do you have a date set for a wedding or are you waiting to see when he is done with all the training? You stay strong as I will try to do also and we will get through this and hopefully get to meet at Graduation!! God Bless U

We don't have a date yet. We've been talking about doing the "paper marriage" first and then a real ceremony later...I graduate from college next spring and ideally I'd like to move to where he is once I'm done...so I think we'll probably get paper married sometime between now and next spring :) I'd do it now..lol..but he needs to focus and I don't want us getting married to take away from his training in any way. :) I know what you mean about the mix of emotions though...sheesh..I never really thought I could feel so many opposing things all at once.

Very smart to not cause your fiance any more distractions than missing you probably already is!! What are you majoring in?? At least you will have your studies to keep you busy and that is a good thing!

I'm a theatre arts major :) I just finished school and I'm off for the summer..and am desperately trying to find a job in my area...unfortunately I live right smack dab in the middle of two cities that are in the top ten for unemployment in CA right now..sucky...It sucks mostly because now I'm bored and have way too much time to sit and think. lol But on the plus side, I've never been more motivated to just do and do and do..because sitting down and thinking is not friendly to my not being sad plans.

OMG My Son also left on May 26th, & I got the scripted call @ 11:07 pm. He left from N.C. I t was vey hard on me ,I wanted to ask so many questions & all I got was the recorded message. I cried so hard that night & even slept in his bed. But I got the letter w/ his address w/the note @ the end it made me feel better. I just can't wait to get HIS first letter to let me know everything is ok.

What DIV is your son in? I have been going into Michael's room also and just sitting feeling his presence and just taking in all the memories...he had a special blanket that I hug as I am trying to fall asleep. I know we will get through this but, it is just so dang hard and gut wrenching at this moment. I just miss my HERO so much and not being able to talk with him and hear about what he is doing makes it even harder. I also can't wait for his first real letter to hear how things are going for him.

You take care of yourself and we must cling to our Faith in God to provide them with everything they need to get through Boot Camp and to draw on everything we have taught them to succeed! God Bless You, Patsy
