Some moms don't get the 30 second phone call. Don't worry, you'll get the 'box' and then the 'thank you for your son' letter from the Navy. If you go worried about your son that absolutely can't stand it anymore, call your son's recruiter and ask for his boot camp address. Let me know if they don't give it t o you.

Slimkin - yes Melissa is correct - some don't get to make phone calls that evening so don't worry (easier said than done) And yes call your recruiter, our recruiter had my sons ship/division # in less than 24 hours after he arrived - we were very very lucky - thats not always the case either. He was surprised it was in the system already. If your anything like me the first week is absolute torture - I'm in week 2 and feeling a little bit better, it doesn't necessarily get easier - it just gets different. Hang in there -

melissa,, I called the recruiter yesterday and he was out of the office so someone else looked it up and was not posted, so get this, all the recruiters in that office are going to training next week all week so no one will be in the office!! I got the box yesterday and there was no address in there!! Going to have to wait a whole nother week????

My brother left on Oct. 29th. We didn't get a phone call, the box or a letter yet. I am a little worried. My mom called his recruiter on Friday and he still did not have an addy for us. I am hoping my mom will receive a letter this week so we can stop worrying!

Kim, Did you get any more info from the recruiter? It seems like everything varies depending on the recruiters. My brother didn't give us very much info before he left. Most of the info we have is info I have gotten since he has left. My mom didn't check her mail yesterday. She said she would call me as soon as she gets anything. If she doesn't receive anything tomorrow I think I might try to get the name of the recruiter myself and try to get a hold of him.

Hi Kim,
My son left for BC on the 3rd as well and we didn't get a call either. We did get the box though on 11/6. This was a relief as we knew he was there! Still waiting to find out his address and PIR date.
