Hi Lonnie's mom and Reese's mom, my name is Wendy, and all three of us are in the same SHIP and DIV!!! I spoke with Bo on Saturday, and got my letter today. I am coming from CA. I made reservations at the Ramada, and also Residence Inn. We are arriving on the 24th, and leaving the 27th. Where are you two staying? Let me know.

The dates that they will be available is the 25th - 29th and they have a choice of taking "Liberty" or "Leave". Leave is accumlative, and so it would be harder to take leave time at Christmas. Liberty is where your recruit can take time each day with you, and report in that evening. So my son is taking "Liberty"..

How exciting! I look forward to meeting you:)

I wonder if the boys know each other? I'll ask when I talk to Lonnie.He called again on Saturday night also. That is his second call, so I'm suprised they get to use the phone that much. I didn't think I would hear from him two Saturdays in a row. We are arriving at the Residence Inn on the 24th also and leaving on the 27th. My son's girlfriend is arriving on the 27th and staying till the 29th. That way that have their time after we leave. I'm glad you mentioned the leave vs liberty. Does that mean they can actually take a few days off and come home for Christmas is they have available leave? That would be awsome. I hope we get to meet each other also.

Hi Susan, same here. I spoke with Bo on Saturday. They were able to call this time, because there was a mistake in the ski masks they received..something with the applications of the identifications. Apparently, they were advised that if they purchased the replacement with their own money, they could have time for a call..I'm sure everybody jumped at this!

From what I understand, they should get leave at Christmas time..this however, is not guaranteed. But if they take liberty now, chances are higher for them to take leave.

Wendy, I was also wondering about Thanksgiving. I am trying to find a place to have a family style Thanksgiving dinner in Chicago. Have you thought about anything yet?

Hello Erics wife, I'm Mychal's Mom and my son is also on Ship 07 Div 007 he is 19 years old and yes it has been an experience I miss him sooooooo :( much, I'm counting down the days to Nov. 25th I think that day I will feel the same way as when he was born. You know I never thought I would miss him as much as I do . But hey they grow up and have to move on. Nice meeting everyone I had looked for people with their loved ones on the same ship and division as my son I think that makes me feel close to him

Hello Mychal's mom,
Do not be surprised if you get a letter/call saying that your son is in Ship 4 Div 007. A lot of us got form letters with the Ship as 07, but once we heard from our recruit we were told it was actually Ship 4. Don't worry, though...the letters will still get to him! Can't wait to meet everyone next month.

Yes actually I would be 100% positive saying that his ship is ship 4 because they don't split the divisions up among ships they are all together. I would count on it being ship 4 div 7. It's a mess I know!

my daughter Merissa went in on August26th she was suppose to graduate on October 30th but she was injured so now she is on ship 7 div 012 and will graduate on 11/25 and we are from Wisconsin then she will go to San Antonio, Texas for A school. She is also saying she gets 5 day liberty so we will see

Sorry to hear that your daughter didn't get to graduate on the 30th. But, she's been moved into an incredible group and will get to take those 4 days afterwards Liberty to spend with family. Much better than the two from last month! Gotta find some good out of it, right?
