Yes, I got to spend a day with my son when he graduated, the second day, he had to stand watch, we called it, "the duty blues." Just be prepared.

my son said in his letter today 12/12/08 that he doesn't know about liberty or leave until he gets to Aschool in P-cola. He has to report there the day of Graduation. I will prob only have maybe 2 hours max or LESS with him before he has to leave. When they said GradnGo they meant it! And I agree with another post, seems like the only ones that are definitely able to go home for Christmas are the ones that have Aschool in GL.

Okay. So I guess I need NOT to get my hopes up for a visit from my son after PIR (Div 045). He was also told that he would be able to have leave to come home after graduation.

In the meantime I have made reservations to fly to Chicago (from Oregon) on December 22nd. I am having a very hard time finding decent transportation (for a woman traveling alone) from O'Hare to the hotel in Gurnee, IL and then from GL to the airport. Does anyone have any good ideas?
