Good evening all, I was wondering if anyone has the date of 9/18/09 for BC Graduation at Great Lakes .
I received the form today & it was awesome. It's official my son made through 1 full week in today, I did too. I have had such a hard time, but did better today. So if there are any other moms out there that want to chat about our future Sailors please respond. Thank you & all take care. This site has been the best therapy for me...you all have been amazingly helpful.

Hi, my son also has PIR date of 09/18/09. His division is 324, ship 11. That's about all I know right now.Still waiitng to hear from him.His father lives in another state and actually receives all the necessary info.
Hi, My name is Carey my son is set for Sep. 18 too ship 7 div 323. I'm having a hard time today. I wish I could tal to him. I have wrote three letters to him, but no response. Have you recieved a letter from him yet?
It is so good to find someone that has the same ship and div as my son (ship 07, div 322 with PIR date 9/18. i have been searching off and on for days. I just joined a few days ago after my son was able to call this past Thursday. He sounded good and upbeat. We are in Louisiana so it takes about 4 days to get his letter usually on Thursdays. I have learned to not rush home everyday to check the mail in hopes of a letter, I just look for them on Thursday. Hope your son is doing well. We are looking forward to the trip to GL for graduation.
have only gotten one letter and one phone call so far. i miss him so much. i've been trying to figure out travel plans but it's so expensive. we're in pa so not sure if it's easier to drive or fly. how's louisiana? how are you holding up?
louisiana is good just HOT. Yes, everything is so expensive. I started checking on things a few months before he left. We decided to stay at the comfort inn. When I called to book reservations, they told me you had to be careful where you stayed because the Motel 6 and some of the other less expensive motels were not in a good area of town. The guy was real nice, they give a discount for graduation and have a shuttle to graduation so you don't have to worry about the traffic. I am holding up ok, some days are better than others. He's our youngest so I guess that makes it a little harder. We are getting excited about the trip and getting to see him. We have decided to drive and do some site seeing on the way. His A school will be in GL so we may fly then so we don't have to deal with the winter weather. Hang in there, they are 1/2 way through BC.
Casey's dad here (pay no attention to the screen name)...Div 944. We got the form letter 1st week, a real one last week and another one yesterday (Wed.). Letter writing on Sunday for them. Being in Ohio, 3 days looks like it will be the norm, so we'll just expect them to arrive on Wednesdays.....
2nd letter was much more upbeat than the 1st. Finally into standard uniforms and getting settled into a more regular routine.
He's always been a pretty picky eater, but said the chow's not bad (but wants his pizza come liberty time)....
You can ask his recruiter to check for you but the boys(and girls )are given their information to put on their form letters. I was also reading on another one of your post that you wouldn't be able to afford to stay at the hotel, when you call the places to stay make sure you let them know that you are going for graduation and there should be a discount, plus you could contact your local VFW and see if they could help....just a suggestion.....Hope you are having a great day
