Son Leaves for basic in 2 days
My son Michael leaves for basic in 2 days! I can't believe it's finally here! I have mixed emotions right now. I am happy he's taking this big step/new phase in his life, he's 22 in December. I am also sad too because he's never been anywhere except here. Please keep us in your prayers as we go through this process!

Barb, You may feel like you are on a roller coaster as you go through these new emotions. We have experienced it and are here for you. Wish him good luck and enjoy the adventure. Remeber to send lots of letters that will be something that will help along the way.

Barb, My son will leave on Tuesday, Nov 17 for Great Lakes. I understand the feelings you are going through right now. Bryan is 19 and very excited to be going into the Navy. After boot camp he will go into the Nuke Program in Charleston.

Lori- I wish you the best too with your son as well. Michael leaves on Sunday to go to MEPS in Raleigh,NC then flies out to Great Lakes on Monday. After boot camp Michael goes to Pensacola, Florida to school for fueling & defueling the aircraft. I was born in Charleston and know the city well. What a great place for your son to be going! Wishing you the best too!
