OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My fiancé and I were wondering the same thing..we were going to get married when he gets his first station, because he was worried if we got married while in A school he would have gotten delayed because of all the paperwork! If I fly to him and have a courthouse wedding in February would we be able to move with him before he gets deployed in April? I think he will be an E-4 by that time as an MR.

Getting married in A school would not delay him at all. The paperwork isn't that bad, although he must take a couple short classes, and getting them can suck if he is in school.
If you marry in February, then he should receive accompanied orders and the Navy would move you when he transfers to his first command. (Deployed is something different).

So if we get married in January there will be enough time between then and April when he leaves on the ship for my son and I to stay on base housing?

Base housing isn't going to happen at Great Lakes. Most of the spouses who marry after the sailor is at school move themselves there, rent an apartment, and then the sailor requests to Live Ashore with his wife. Base housing has a waiting list for the most part, and a few months is not enough time to get you in it He will receive BAH once you are married. Getting married does not put you on his current orders to school, It will only put you on his NEXT set of orders. You'll probably go on a housing wait list wherever he goes. Almost every base has wait lists. The housing isn't even "on base" most of the time! Nearby, yes, but rarely on the base itself.

He's graduating A school in January and he already got orders to go to Florida.

Sorry about the confusion about where his school is located.
He already has orders? Then the Navy won't move you, so that will be at your own expense. Too late for a courthouse wedding to get you on the orders. Still, if you marry now, he can get you on the housing list. I don't know what the length of the wait is there. I'd bet you'll have to rent wherever he goes.

Hello, my son is in boot camp now, he plans to get married. His A school is at Great Lakes, rate is AECF. Is he allowed to get married on PIR weekend? Does he need to ask for permission? Do they both need to be residents of IL? If not PIR weekend does anyone have any idea when the next time they would be able to? They are engaged, his ship date was moved up and he was only given 1 week before he left for BC or they would have married before he left. How long is A school for AECF? So many questions...if someone has any answers to my questions I would greatly appreciate it!

Any adult can marry in any state. He will be told not to marry PIR weekend, best not to break the rules.
To get on the orders, you must be married about a month before the orders are cut. AECF will include INDOC, ATT and then A school. There will be waits and holds, so the entire school can take about a year to complete. You have plenty of time.
When he first checks into A school, he will be a phase one liberty sailor, meaning he cannot leave base. He will earn phase two in about a month to six weeks, and then he can have weekend overnights. He must have a liberty buddy, he can request that it be you.
He must inform the Navy he is marrying via special request chit. Because he is a student, they can require he take pre-marital counseling, and/or talk to the chaplain. Not so bad.
I'd guess a couple months after PIR for a courthouse wedding. It is unlikely he can get leave to go home during school, unless you want to wait for Christmas stand down.

When is the best time to bring up this decision to my recruiter? I want to get married before boot camp

But if the person who is being married has children there could be too many dependents and the depper would need a waiver to try and join, which could be denied. Also be careful about who the spouse is as if they are not from this country that can affect the deppers clearnace.
