Welcome Judy and Ann! It's so wonderful to be able to call and txt our soldiers after boot camp, isn't it? Enjoy, as once they're out to sea, this all changes. I'm enjoying it lots, and it's easier for me to txt and send pictures via cell. My son as almost done with all of his schools at GL.One more month to go!

Harry is starting A school in GL he is getting his phone so we will be able to speak to him.

Jo, my son is deployed with 68 and has called me 3 times this week, 2 on a ATT phone card, and then from their workshop. They can purchase cards on carriers at the NEX, but his has sold out, so thats a good gift from home. Att has a card they can use, but a more experienced mom can tell which ones work. We are sending e-mails also and he even sent me a picture. They know their limits.

Oh - ok, I'm not sure what all the names of the schools are - lol. My son took 4 different C-schools in San Diego. Yes that's what my son told me too. He's actually been deployed for short times like 6 days here and there. I think they are gearing up to go out for a long deployment. He's new so of course he's still learning what he can and can't do but he has been able to call from the ship once - was able to actually get service on his cell phone, and he can get e-mails pretty regularly through is navy e-mail address. I have heard about Skype but I'll have to ask him if its something they can use on the ship. I guess sites they can access on the ship are limited because of security. He seems to be really excited about the deployments and what they do, so I was happy about that.

Hi Jo, well Jake is doing his site TV school at GL. This next school in SD, I don't know what this school will be. I was hoping to get skype for when he deploys. He said that the IC's are in chrge of the phone-calls , so this will be easy for them to patch their own calls thru. ;0

Maureen - my son is on a Long Range Missle Crusier in Hawaii. He's been there about a month. He also went to Site TV school in San Diego.
Cheryl - Has your son earned his privilege to have his cell phone yet? I think I sent Kev his cell phone right after he got in A-school and so I actually go to talk to him quite a bit then.

Hello All
My son has started A School about two weeks now. I don't get to talk to him as often or as much as I would like to so I don't know what to expect. I would appreciate a heads-up on the what to expect. The last time I saw him was boot camp in March. I really miss him.

Hi Kahla,
Jake is on the tale end of Site Tv School. He graduates on 6/29, which is my birthday. Then he turns 21 the next day. He''l be coming home for a few days before he heads to his next school in San diego. Then, once finished with his school, he reports to his ship, a guided missel cruiser. Then, out to sea, I would imagine. Eventually, if not immediately fter reporting to it. Sometimes, they have to fly out to meet their ship. What class is your hubby in now? I only have one military son.

hey ladies! my husband FINALLY classed up for A School yesterday. he says its easy so far...hes too smart for his own good. haha.
