Hello, everyone my name is Amanda. Thank you for joining this group! I have recently went through the whole process of becoming a PROUD NAVY WIFE.  I am starting this group to help all the new spouses on your journey.  Ask me anything!!!!

This is especially for wives, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, or fiances.

Everyone has a different experience throughout this whole process.  My husband started signing up in July of 2010 and did not leave for bootcamp until March 29th 2011, so we have pretty much been through a lot this last year and I would love to help everyone that I can understand things that I did not when we first started. He is now in the middle of A-school and I guess so are we.  It has not always been fun, but it is worth it in the end. I say this is especially for spouses becuase pay, and things like that are different for us, but mom, dads and anyone else is more than welcome to join.  I look forward to hearing from everyone, and hope that I can help you along the way.  This page is for newly married about to get married, or just being a new Navy spouse in general.  My husband and I have been together 6 years and married over 2 years now.  We have a 3 year old son.  Watching the children go through this is very difficult because they do not fully understand what is going on.  I am here to help!!!!  I have lots of ideas and experiences to share!!!!

Hi everyone, I am technically not a "new spouse" yet however my long term boyfriend and I are debating getting married before he goes to basic. We are at the very beginning of this whole process and I just wanted to get some advice from others who have been through it.

Hi I have so many questions....Husband is heading to A school soon. Does anyone know when the families can move with. We have already been away from each other for around 5 months. Not as long for some. But would like to be closer soon. Since he has not been stationed anywhere for longer then 6 months we cant move with. He will be going to A school and C school in the same area so was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Or experiances with this situation. thanks (:

Michelle, here is the link to the free phone cards you can send to your SR!

Comment by Proudnavywife<3mysailor on April 30, 2013 at 10:05pm

The last phone call you get for a few weeks will be the "I'm here"call.Like everyone has tolled me No news Is good news! The SR's get to write letters about 2-3 weeks into BC.If an SR is fall ill or gets hurt and it will push back the day they graduate then they will be able to call to let their loved ones know. I heard they can also "Earn phone calls"Depending on how they and or their division do.There is a page on here that gives free phone cards for you to send to your SR so they can call there loved one when they have earned it.

You should get married ASAP. My husband is at Ft. Sam for C school right now which is about a 20 minute drive to Lackland. If I remember correctly, MA A schoolers got their orders pretty quickly after getting to Lackland. So I would have him ask his command how he could do it ASAP.

Also, you cannot go on deployment with him. You can however, move with him if he stays within the U.S. if he gets overseas orders you will not be allowed to move until he is above an E4.

I have heard the Japanese Tea Gardens is a pretty place to get married or Marriage Island at the Riverwalk... its supposed to bring good luck. Let me know if you have any questions about the San Antonio area. I have lived here for several months now. Good Luck!

My fiance just graduated boot camp and now in lackland airforce base, tx for A school. we are trying to figue out when is the best time to get married. we were told if were not married before he gets his orders then I wont be able to go on deployment with him. is this true? i really want to follow him as much as I can so does this mean we have to get married in A school?
