My son classed up today and begins NACCS tomorrow. His hold was 6 weeks for those wondering how long it is currently. Here's to him and hoping he enjoys it!
Congratulations on the homecoming, Julie
Good luck with the thing/award.

Paula, my husband had to do the exact same thing and that was for him to get an advancement on his ranking. He is E-3 right now. He had to write a paper also and go infront of a board. He was approved. What he got approved for was an automatic advancement ranking to become E-4 in 6 months once he finished c-school and is at his permant duty station. But, in order for him to get the automatic advancement, he had to resign for another year. I don't know if this is the same thing as your daughter, but it sounds a little like what my husband went through so I thought I would share! Good Luck! :)

OK, I have a question....Lauren is the top of her AT class. She and two other sailors with gpa's just under hers have been chosen to get some award(?). This is where I'm not sure what to call it. She said they each have to write a paper telling why they deserve it and then go in front of a panel to be questioned. The person that gets the award(?) will get a bump in rank.

Laurens thinking she is not gonna get it even though her GPA is over 3 points higher than these other sailors. See, she made E-3 in July and these other guys are only E-1's. She said these other sailors are ground AT's and not aircrew.

Does anyone know what this "thing/award" is?? And does it matter if you've gone up in rank recently??

Hey Carly....when my daughter was on hold for Aircrew from Feb to May, Phase 2 had overnight liberty on weekends(unless they had duty that weekend). But it got taken away in late May due to a bunch of the numbnuts (my daughters words) getting in trouble. Apparently it gets given/taken away quite often. So have him check...they may have it back.

Okay cool thanks for the info. Yeah my bf thinks that he won't have duty because of the way they split up the groups- let's hope!
