My son sent a letter from RTC today. He is very confused about his orders. He is signed aircrew. He said he doesn't know what he will be doing down in Pensacola. He heard rumors they are sending the sailors through SERE before aircrew candidate school to weed out the weak ones. What news can I give him at  his PIR on 5/31? What can he expect when he arrives.

Thank you moms!  As always, your kind words and encouragement help me cope!!  He kept telling me that it's harder on me than him.  He's such a strong kid that he was actually excited for SERE, knowing it would mentally and physically push him to his limits, or beyond.  Blue candle burns every night.  :)  Love to you all

blessings to your boy Momof2....sending thoughts of strength and endurance.....nobody enjoys SERE but as my son says: best training he's ever had and he's glad he went thru it. They learn so much about themselves, and Mama Navy gives them all the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. He will walk taller when this is over, believe me.

Momof2boys,

This is harder on you than it is on him.  Really. I understand how you feel about not being able to talk to him, it's hard enough being apart, huh?  He is becoming a member of an elite group of airmen for his birthday.  :)   I'll light a blue candle tonight and wish him success and a happy birthday!  R.

Thanks for the well wishes omama-and to you and your Sailor as well!  Mine should be starting his AWV classes and is so impressed by his fellow AWs-met someone who celebrated his 10 years of wings by getting his wings 'refreshed' with ink.

my aircrewman has graduated A school, says he'll stay in Pcola until probably July, I guess for C school? (he's only talked about it on his cell, and it gets really fuzzy at times. Gets embarrassing asking him to repeat himself!) and then he thinks San Diego for SERE.  I have to keep reminding myself, he's probably going to be sent off on a ship before long, such an odd in-between time this is!
