Hi everyone.  My son has been on this ship for a couple of years, but I haven't been on this page in a while.  I was waiting to see if the activity picked up on the Ombudsman page, and if we got another facebook page for families.  I guess no to both lol.  To the Mom who posted the "late December" alert about mail/package delivery, thank you!  My son has been rather vague, bad had said that it would be quite a while.  I have seen two boxes anyway.  They will be desperate for something by then!

I'm trying to join the USS Simpson FB page and got a message from OMBUDSMAN who said my son had to approve me.  So he is trying to get this taken care of for me.  OMBUDSMAN said my son needs to provide my name, relationship and email,,,in order to be approved.

I sent her, two pm's via Facebook, and it has to be through my son. Gah! Its frustrating, because of his bubbblehead! I'm connected with the Red Cross and know the appropriate channels, in case of emergency. But, I'd just like to keep up on things with my boy and the ship. Thanks for your help, gang. I'll keep trying.

Oh and if anyone wants to find me on fb to connect. My name is Phylis Cummings and I'm on Navy for Moms group through fb. Would love to connect with all of you! I don't really get on here unless a notice pops up that someone has posted.

Maggie...don't know if they are doing anything. We've only gotten a couple of short emails and chatted for a few this morning via fb. Your son will need to send an email to the ombudsman in order to connect with her on fb. Hope everyone had a good holiday.

You will need to provide the information to be approved but I don't think they require your sons permission. I will post a link

Hi, gang! I haven't heard from my son since they shipped out 11/14. I've been trying to get contact info for the Ombudsman, and apparently it has to be done with his approval. If there are any projects or special things going on for the holiday on the ship, I'd like to help out.....if I can. I the meantime, keep me posted on any news. My boy is FC2 Tompkins.
