Susie- good luck to your son as he makes the trip home & begins the next phase of his life.  He has made a good start with his years in the navy.  We're glad you've been a part of the Navy family- and you're welcome to pop in & say hi any time!  You may have withdrawals from the site :)

Good morning! As I sit here I have so much going thru my mind. My sailors 4 years is up! It seem just like yesterday he was leaving for basic and wondering what the next four years would bring my newly enlisted sailor. Well as I sit here I must say my sailor entered as a boy into the navy at 17. He is not reenlisting. These last four years have been difficult and yet rewarding. He has been stationed in VA. He did 2 deployments.  He and his dad are driving his car, across the states and coming home to start a new chapter in his life. He is registered for classes in the fall to begin college. He has a couple of leads on jobs. He comes out of the navy a man with experience. I am so proud of him!

I want to thank N4M cuz without this website I would have lost it! I did not always post things but I did read the posts and it has kept me sane over the last 4 years.

25 years ago when my husband was in the military we did not have social networking and some how we managed to survive and communicate. With that being said I am truly very grateful for the thoughts, words and support from everyone here.

As I write this I will no longer follow the posts. I will truly miss it. It is bitter sweet. Thank you for being there these last four years. I wish all your sailors the best of luck. Also thank them all for their continued service. I will always keep our military and their families in my prayers and all that they do for our country.

If anyone is in the Flagstaff area, there is an Armed Forces Day parade tomorrow, I think it's at 9:30.

Hope you're all doing well. Lisa, we'll be thinking of you next week- hope you're hanging in there!

thanks, Joyce.  Nancy, thanks for the post on the tiger cruise, they are lots of fun if anyone ever gets a chance to do one.  You should think about joining us at our navy moms chat at AJs on Monday at 6:30.  Hope to see lots of you there!

Hi all,

NBC news had a great clip on a Tiger Cruise on the USS Stennis.

My sailor is on AFB Keesler at a school.  I think of you all often.
