We heard from Brandon today and he starts his ET A school on Friday. He thought he was going to have to wait until January, so he is excited. Only 42 more days and he will be home for Christmas. I'm not excited LOL!!!

Wow, sounds like the DEP picnic went well. Julie, how great that Cory is home. Hope all is going well for him.
Seattle/Oak Harbor was cold and wet, but we had a great visit with Alex, Tabatha and Hope. It was fun watching them open presents (since he won't be here for Christmas, we had a little celebration this weekend). Alex is now on his way to play in the sand, it is just to be for 6 months but he said there was scuttlebutt that it might be pushed out to 8 months, keep your fingers crossed that it stays at 6 months. He has a wedding to attend that we don't want him to miss :-)

Thought I'd share this with y'all. A friend sent it to me. There are some really sweet cards designed by kids. There's also a list of messages you can have included in "your" card, or you can add one of your own. Our sailor won't be home for Thanksgiving for the first time in his life this year, so I just thought y'all may want to join in the fun!! Hope this isn't against the rules!! If it is...so sorry!! Just let me know and I won't do this kind of thing again.

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and send it to a service person who is currently serving in Iraq . You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services. We can never say enough thank you's.

WOW! The DEP family potluck looked like it was a huge success yesterday. Joyce and Mel, it was so good to see you agian. Glad I got to meet Rhoda. Staci and I found it without a hitch...I have got to get one of those GPS systems!!! Melissa, thanks for posting it!

It's never easy on us or them. I wait till he's on the plane before I cry. In answer though, yes, it has gotten easier over the last seven years and 3 deployments.

Ladies, those of you attending tomorrow's DEP Families and Navy Moms Potluck here in Tucson: I drove out to the Reserve Center, south on Wilmot, south of Golf Links and about 100 feet from the Wilmot gate going into DM, turn LEFT! Light brown angular building with light trim. As you enter the parking lot, you'll notice the Navy anchors!! GO NAVY! We will be inside, don't let the 'cool' weather keep you away. Start at 1pm - 4pm and ALL ARE WELCOME!! Bring a dish according to your name (see event) or bring what you can, just bring something and come! Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
