tatmom...you'll get the "kid in a box" delivered via FedEx in a few days (maybe a week) then the form letter follows soon after via USPS. The form letter will have all your info in it. Make sure you check his pockets well before you wash his clothes.

Thanks for the info.  I will let you know if I find any surprises (like a note).  Does anyone know if he is allowed to keep pictures?  I was wondering if what he took will come in the box back to us.  I was told he could keep what he could put in his wallet.  He took graduation pictures of his sisters (8th grade/cap and gown), photos of his two cousins (one ROTC Marines in HS; the other Navy Active) and the last photo we have of his brother who died 8 years ago.  We were hesitant about sending them.  But all he took was these pictures, his DL, calling card and debit card.  What do you think?

He should be able to keep everything that was in his wallet. But, sometimes they freak out and throw everything in...my son did...he send his SS card and DL back home, earning him a call home the first week

how funny.  Sounds like a strategic plan.  probably wouldn't work a second time around. lol
