Navy For Moms

Hello All~

I couldn't stand the thought of waiting 2 weeks for the form letter to get my son's address and whereabouts so I called his recruiter and he was able to look on his computer and tell me that he is in Division 274 on Ship 10 the USS Enterprise! :)
So, would love to connect with Mom's of SR's who are in the same place with him!

Yeah, I heard they can wear religious medals, just ran out today and got one for Andrew!!! I heard along they way there is a certain kind of watch they can wear, but that might just have concerned boot camp. I went with what is safe!! (haha)
I am not doing to well today at all, just keep making lists of everything i still need to get done tonight!!!! Are you taking off tomorrow?

We leave on Thursday. Thanks for the medallion advice. I guess I'll take his watch if he can keep it I guess that will be good. If not no big deal.

I gave Joey one for Easter - the only thing you are allowed to wear around your neck in uniform is a religious medallion, as I recall. Not sure if he took it or not.

Hey All~

I have received a total of four letters from Colby in the last few days; I guess he is taking advantage of being able to send mail out on Tues. & Thurs. now!
He said a few things that concerned me. One thing he said was he has asked a few people including a chaplain, his Chief & two RDC's about the graduation list because he has had to change his due to people who were originally coming and now cannot. He stated that because their PIR was SO big with SO many DIV's graduating that day that they are limiting all visitors to just who is on their list of four. I spoke with the Public Affairs Office and they told me that others could attend who were not on their list of 4 but they would only be allowed in if they were accompanied by someone who was on the list and would be seated after everyone on the Sailor's lists were seated, in a first-come, first-serve basis. Now, Colby has been told that isn't true. He stated that NO ONE will be allowed at the PIR except everyone who is on all the Sailor's lists of 4 and the others can stay on base at the USO office to see him after but cannot attend the PIR. Does anyone know if he is just confused or if I was given the wrong info.?

It says on the form letter that we got... only guests on the access list are guaranteed to see the ceremony. On one of Ryan's calls he did ask me if Jimmy was coming with Ashley because he had to be on the list if he wanted to get in, that no one could come that wasn't on the list. They maybe a little tighter also because I think they are doing construction.

Im still here...it is fair week this week and the town is just abuzz with the rodeo, demo derbys and carnival rides. Of course, me being with the fire dept, I have had to work every night since last Wed!!! I just got done with my 3rd night of demo derbys....its been a very hot week!! At least it kept me busy and gave me less time to watch the clock...but it also made it so I haven't had time to even get started packing yet!!! I got a letter from Josh today, he sounded fantastic. I gonna try to get the dirt out of my teeth and hair and get some sleep. If you all saw me now you would probably pee yourself with laughter...or be scared out of your mind. My helmet is not really "hair friendly"...especially on 100 degree days when I have had it on for the last 4 hrs!!! Two nights from now, we will be together, I can't wait!!! Everyone travel safe!!!
