navymami,

I thought you received a phone call, which is great news!  What have YOU learned?  Can't wait to hear how your SR is doing!

I am feeling pretty special and hate to brag. My son is Div 212 and I have rec'd 2 surprise calls now. They are related to the fact that he is an "IT" and gathering information for his security clearance. But still nice to chit chat. He tells me the division is doing ok. A bit of trouble with attention to detail but to be expected this early in bootcamp. When he made his " I have arrived " call he mentioned hoping to make a call at the 3 week mark. Hoping that is still on..

They haven't rec'd mail yet. And this Sunday will be their first chance to mail out letters. Hope this helps. You should have rec'd the official letter with graduation and your recruits address. We also found out that the person who was giving the address to recruits gave the wrong information. My advice to you might be if you can talk to your recruiter would be to see if you can double check that you have the correct address.

I am not on here often but feel free to message me.

Hello, This did happen to our son. We recieved the wrong address but just got our first letter (June 1st) We were told they would forward all his mail as he stated no letters recieved as of May 27th but plan to burn up the post office with this corrected address.  My son now is also on ship 12 div 212 so I am glad to hear someone else. My son also said in his letter about the" attention to detail problem."  I am excited to know that you have recieved some surprise calls from your son. Maybe a surprise call is on the horizon for me. Let me know any updates you recieve. Thanks

My SR called me yesterday too (6/1)!! :-) So wonderful to hear his voice!! Same as a previous Mom said, he needed some family info for the background check for his security clearance. I too got to chit chat for about 10 minutes while I looked up some information for him. He said everything was going good, and that it is pretty much just as lhe expected it would be, although he is sick (he said it comes with the territory of lack of sleep, run ragged, and in and out at all hours) but he was happy and sounded in good spirits (though he did say it was 'no picnic'). He didn't say anything bad about any of it. And from other things we talked about, I got the impression that he was speaking freely. He did say that they took all of his letter writing supplies though, and that Sunday will be the first opportunity to write letters if they earn it. So watch those mailboxes! I wish for all of you to get those wonderful surprises. The area code to watch for is 847. I almost didn't answer it because I didnt recognize the number and wasn't expecting a call for at least another week. Hope I still get that one too.

congratulations, I am so happy for you...

has anyone heard anything from division 223? I have not recieved anything except my "kid in a box" I have wrote serveral letters and wishing I would get something from somewhere. I keep my phone on me at all times in hopes that I am going to hear something. The time is going so slow......

My son left for BC on  5/22/2012   I have received The box,  and the letter form with his address and his Graduation date.

I am hoping they gave the right address for my son to  receive letters.  Has anyone heard from their SR  ship 07 Div 222 PIR Date 7/20 ?

Good Morning! My son is on ship 07 Div 222 as well. I have received the same thing as you. Still no letter and no phone call. They say no news is good news.

I got a phone call yesterday at 2:30pm.  He got to talk for a long time (45 minutes) and was able to call his aunt, parents, and myself.  He sounded great.  He left for boot camp on May 7th.
