Does anyone in this group live in the central FL/Gulf Coast area? New Port Richey, Tampa, Clearwater, St Petersburg, Orlando? Would you like to come to a Navy Mom Meet and Greet On Friday May 10 at 7:00pm at Rusty Bellies in Tarpon Springs at the Sponge docks? I would love to meet you all, hang out, and talk about our Sailors. Feel free to bring someone if you like. Also please join my FL facebook group so you can stay connected to other FL moms/families and find out about other meet and Greets in the future. We will be there again the last week of June/first week of July and will host a Meet and Greet Party then as well and host a Navy/Military Scrapbook Make and Take party as well. I love meeting my Navy Mom friends :)https://www.facebook.com/groups/147079298773780/ Feel free to send me a friend request here on N4M's and/or on facebook if you are interested in meeting with us :)

I understand how you feel, my soon will be deployed soon, and during his most recent visit his girlfriend ( who turned into his fiancee after dating for 6 months) booked a hotel for the whole week and he rented a car. We saw him for a total of 45 minutes the whole week. .....one he's deployed who knows when we'll see him. She's pushing the whole marriage to happen sooner than later...

JnRene-I understand why you feel hurt. He will need time to adjust to being home.  They have missed so much while they have been gone. During one time when my husband was gone I rearranged our bedroom. He asked to have it put back the way it was before he left. He'll make plenty of time for you once he has had time getting his feet back on steady ground. Don't be offended.

JnRene do not take it personally. Your son and his wife need to reconnect first and foremost. When my son returned from an Asian deployment I respectfully stayed home and let his girlfriend meet him. I knew it was her face he was needing to see after those 7 months away. Your time with your son will come soon enough :)

JnRene , I have no experience with that my son is stationed in Japan, but I , like you, would be having a hard time with this request, I am in DeLeon springs if you need to just talk, I'm nearby :)

Anyone have experience with your sailors homecoming after a long deployment?? We are in DeLand and my sailor is stationed in San Diego where his wife eagerly awaits his arrival from Bahrain next month. He will have been deployed for 11 months by then and I have been asked not to come for his arrival or for the next few weeks after.......trying not to feel extremely hurt by this!!! Advice needed please......
