With all that is happening in the world, we need to hold fast to our ideals. I am praying for our citizens to have clarity when they vote for our next leader. God knows we have a lot of damage to undo. Praying for our sons, daughters, and family members that they might be safe while serving all of us.

It certainly is hard, Ma Mary, to hang in there with all of the negative news that seems to relate to our military...Benghazi, the VA scandal, and the trade of 1 soldier for 5 terrorists.  I just keep praying for our troops and our allies' troops that the Lord will protect them because it's certain we can't count on the wisdom and morals of men/women.

I am getting ready to send a package to my son in Japan. I normally use the paper custom form but thought this time I might do it online electronically. I mailed a package back before Christmas and was talking to the postal clerk at the city PO and he said they had been having some problems with the new electronic  procedure but they were working the "kinks" out.  My local PO is only a couple miles from me but does not have the equipment to do this but she said she could mail it only if I do it online. My question is has anyone had any problems with the online form and delivery, delivery delayed etc.? I really don't want to have to deal with a lost package. Thanks

It is so sickening to think a President of the US would think so little of our Military to make these cuts. :(

Navymomx2-I agree with you 100%.  The military is sliding back into the Carter/Clinton mentality of cut the military for social programs. Also, under those two the military moral was terrible, couldn't get parts for planes, ships, and the sailors, soldiers, airmen were leaving the military in droves!

Wow just joined this group. I just stumbled upon this group by chance. I have been so bummed about the current military situation that Obama has put upon them. The military has a hard enough job day to day without extra trOubles with a capital "O".  I have 2 sons in the Navy the oldest is 24 and has been in the Navy for 6 years the youngest 21 and has been in for 2. So many of the benefits of joining the Navy is being stripped away. Education is being threatened along with pay changes. Another benefit is retirement. Who knows what kind of "CHANGES" will happen in the next 4 years. It is like he hopes to "beat down" the spirit of the military.  Who knows what is next.

Everyone keep praying and write your senators and reps.  We have to let them know how we feel about this guy.  Our sons and daughters need us to support them by contacting the govt.

Thank the Lord.  We must keep praying that he won't get the position.

Totally agree, Mom in the OC.  I have signed several petitions against Hagel and have contacted my 2 Democratic senators personally about him.  My biggest concern is his anti-Israel/pro-Arab policies.  If you anyone agrees, I suggest all to contact their reps today and voice your opposition to his nomination.

Hello Conservative moms!!

I am former Navy myself, with one son is bootcamp right now and other son in AFROTC.   I just wanted to add my suggestion for the NROTC scholarship school possibility posted by rudyinok---Have you looked at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University?  My son got the AF type 2 scholarship to the Daytona Beach campus.  He's VERY conservative and is loving this school.  Not sure what your son wants to do in the Navy, but ERAU has NROTC squadron also.  Does he want to fly?  Engineering? Feel free to message me if you'd like any more info.
