Hi ladies,
Been a while since I've been on here hope all of you are doing well!! We are ok just busy. Well Samantha graduated A school with honors and is now in school for shipboard opts.. She only has 4 more weeks to go and still has not received her orders??? I guess that's odd. She tells me that normally they receive orders before they graduate A school??
I'm feeling kinda blue as her Birthday is Friday... Breaks my heart that we can't be together!! We did send her a few things but not much because she will have to move soon!! I had never thought about how to get a cake to her!! That would be a great idea but how???? Most all of her friends (girls anyway) have already shipped out so that just leaves a few guys??? I'll have to think about that I guess!! Hope all is well with everyone!!

Good afternoon ladies. Welcome to the new members. I am back and have tried not to miss a beat. The local college has a library that I was able to go to but, I had so much mail to answer it was crazy. Thank you all for your prayers for my situation. I pray all of you, your sailors and families are well. I hop you all have a great evening. Missed ya!

Yes, it is nice to send them things from 'home'....today Sara and a friend were looking for Mexican Food. They asked his GPS, and it took them to Taco Bell! LOL She wants a really GOOD Mexican meal. I may have to make one for her when I go over the 4th...

Another birthday idea...My son's birthday was in May. He likes computer magazines, so I thought I'd get him a subscription, but I know he doesn't need more 'stuff' '. So...I found a magazine he likes that has an online subscription and got him that. He can pull it up on his laptop, read it, keep it, whatever without having to find a place for it. I would guess that whatever your sailor likes, cars, computers, boating, etc. there's an online magazine for it. Just an idea.

My son is in route to Pensacola from Coronado. Out there it was best to use the USPostOffice (USPS) one price box because they would deliver it to them on base and they did not have to go pick it up. That was important out there at least due to the size of the base and his exhaustion from intense training and leg injuries too. But they still did not get pacakeges on weekends except sometimes on Saturday morning.

Thanks for the idea about the NEX card - AWESOME idea!!!! And so glad to know about the large NEX. The only one I've seen is the one in GL and it was not that large!

Thank you for the ideas. Yes, he says it is very hot! He grew up in Illinois so he is use to hot summers, but he really doesn't like it. That was part of the reason we moved home to Washington State. He likes the weather here much more!
Does anyone know of a way to get a birthday cake or something like that to him? He has friends there now that he could share it with, I just hate that he won't be home for his birthday.

One more thing...you can 'personalize' the NEX card you order with photos etc. One friend of mine had her son's baby picture put on it for his birthday...LOL
