Hi everyone - It has been sooooo lonnnng - I know. I've had so much going on the last two months, I've been away from the computer and my email. I miss chatting with you all -- I lost my grandfather unexpectedly last month and I've had some surgery - but all is well now. Alex is doing just great -- He's made Petty Officer 3rd Class - he has finished A-School and will begin Power School for the Nuclear Program after the holidays. He is coming home for two whole weeks for Christmas - I am so excited - I can't wait. My daughter will also be home from College - so I will have the whole crew home. I'm counting the days.

Sheryl - my daughter had the digital pictures and emailed them to me - but I couldn't figure out how to get them posted here - I'm useless at that stuff. She will be home next month and I will have her help me -- I'm so very sorry for the awful delay.

Carlotta, Ann, Wendy and Mary Jane - hope you are all doing well and you are enjoying the preparations for the upcoming holidays. My best to you all.

Hi all--How is everyone doing? I hope you all are doing good...

Dawn- Were you able to post those pictures for MaryJane? How is Alex doing in A school? Not much longer now!!

Carlotta- How is Jason doing. Did he go to his new duty station yet? Did he get to come home for leave yet?

Ann--How's Andrew doing? Was it great to have him home for a few days?? I bet the days flew by. How does he like it in San Diego?

Wendy and MaryJane---I hope everything is going good for you both.

My older son "Jake" has finally finished Army Basic training this morning. He is heading to his Computer training (IT) school in Ga for 5 months!
Thomas is doing better in Corpsmen A school, he was set back one week, but he likes the instrutors in this new class and the study group he is in....he is doing good! He only has 4 more weeks...
I hope to hear from you all soon.

Hi ladies --- how is everyone? Hope all is ok with Wendy. Maybe she's away on vacation. Hopefully somewhere far away from the hurricanes.

Carlotta - glad to hear that plans are being made to prepare for the Hurricane and relocating to Georgia. I think everyone learned a hefty lesson during Hurricane Katrina. It's comforting to see New Orleans moving everyone out that can't get out on their own.

Ann - how fantastic that Andrew will be home for five days - I'm so glad for you. Alex is suppose to get liberty but plans to travel to his dad's house in Texas to pick up his truck. He misses having is own transportation.

Sheryl - hope all is going well with Tommy.

My best to all of you and your families.

Hi Ladies
Just wanted to drop in and show my friends some love. Hope things are going well with your sailors. Talked to Jason last night, I guess they are preparing to leave for Georgia in case Gustav pose a threat to them in Pensacola. I'm just praying they don't wait until the last minute to get them out of there.
Ann - you are so lucky. Andrew will be home soon. Jason has to stay until Oct. for more training for his job or something in that nature. He doesn't care about staying he is having fun and playing football on some team but I was hoping that he would be home before the cold snap come so we can celebrate. I didn't get much heads or tails he spent majority of his phone call talking to his dad, so my part of the conversation was short we were both sleepy and tired so I told him to go get his shower and prepare for bed.
Sheryl - I have been praying for Tommy. I know he will do good.
Dawn - tell Alex we said hi and we hope things continue to go well with him.
Let's continue to keep our US Sailors in our prayers.
You guys where is Wendy?

Hi Everyone~

Carlotta, sounds like you are super busy right now. Hope things settle down for you soon. Glad to hear Jason is going to be close to home. Andrew will be in San Diego but it is still about a 2 hour flight from home. Andrew will be home for 5 days starting on Sept 2nd so I am excited about that. He found out that the helicopter squadron that he is assigned to is NOT a cargo helicopter but is a sea combat helicopter (insert scarry face here). He is very excited about it but of course Mom is nervous about it. Oh well, welcome to the military. He has 6 months left of C school that he will begin when he reports to San Diego on Sept. 8th so he wont actually report to his squadron until the begining of Feb, 2009.

Sheryl~ So sorry to hear about Tommy and the last test. Glad to read that he found a study group though. That should help alot. Andrew has tons and tons of homework on a daily basis. It is not easy, that is for sure.

Dawn~ How lucky are you that you will have Alex 15 minutes away. You lucky duck!!!

Ok, time to wake up my little one for preschool. Missing you all and thinking of you and your sailors!

Hi everyone -- Alex is in A School I think until October - and then starts Power School (Nukes) for nine months, and then six months of trajectory School here close to home - about 15 minutes away - I am so thrilled about that. Might be able to have him home for dinner once in a while.

Sheryl - I will try your posting idea - mind you - I have no clue about this stuff - you don't know what a leap it was for me to learn how to post messages on N4M!! I'm not even kidding ;0) Alex is having trouble in school too. He says he's passed all of his tests, but he's struggling. It is intense and a lot to learn. He leaves his room at 5:30 a.m. and doesn't get back until 9:00 at night six days a week. I told him to keep plugging and believing in himself - he will come out great on the other side. It's all I know to do for him -- encouragement.

My best to all of you ladies..

Hi All,
Carlotta, Jason sure missed alot while he was away...what a time frame to go to BC and "A". But that will just make his "leave" at home more special...One big celebration...... WOOOHOOO!!!!.
Enjoy your time with him. I'm so happy for you that he will be right there in Va.

Well, tomorrow I'm going to a ladies house I met here on the site. She lives about three blocks from me!! We are getting together with some of the "New Moms" from Navy4Moms who live close, and try to calm their fears. One is very, very upset and worried....

Tommy did not pass his test on Thursday. He had to go in front of a review board...they are going to give him one more chance. He has recently found a study group that is helping alot. I just wish he had found it earlier!
I hope everyone has a great weekend!! Keep in touch.....

Ladies - thank you for your birthday wishes and prayers for my husband's family. My birthday was great although I wish Jason would had been able to join when my husband, family, and friends took me out to dinner. Guess when he gets home in a couple of weeks we will have to celebrate Mother's Day(May 11), his birthday(July 8), my husband and mine wedding anniversary(July 14), his sister's birthday(July 30) and my birthday(August 8). That's a lot but this is all that he has missed celebrating with us in just 3 months.
Jason is still enjoying PC. Sometime I feel that he is enjoying it a little too much. But I am glad I get to talk to him daily. He is excited about coming home and his duty station which is Virginia - 21/2--3 hours from home(Yaaaa!). Oh God I can see us now. People be looking for us and we will be sitting in Virginia. Hope all your sailors are doing well and soon will be arriving home for visits.
Well Ladies gotta go. Working on completing the obituaries for the funeral Sunday, finding sponsors for my daughter's pageant and working on a memorial service for one of our church member that died in March. Sooooooo.........Need I say anymore?

Hi Ladies...Its so nice to hear from you.
Dawn,
the women that wanted the pictures of the PIR is the newest member of our group MaryJane Stuckey, she did not want to give an email address so my daughter posted some pics on a picture share web site and MaryJane grabed them from there. You can post yours and then send her the address of where they are. I would love to see yours too!
Ann,
sounds like you are doing good...And congrats to Andrew!! That is SO great!! San Diego!! Close to his GF and that not too far from you either..
Yes, Manteca is very hot right now and is supposed to be around 105 for the rest of the week.
Dawn-
I know what you mean about the worrying continuing ….I’ll be praying for Alex, how much longer is his school?

Tommy is struggling in his “A” School. It is SO intense…12 test in 10 weeks!! They seem to be dropping people out of the school every week. He is studying so hard, he just passed test number 4 yesterday and takes test number 5 on Thursday!!
After the 10 weeks of classes the last 4 weeks of the School should be good ones, they get to do hands on lab work and actually work in the VA hospital.
The ones who are doing the best are the ones who already have advanced CPR training and/or some type of paramedic training. If all goes well he should be home some time in Oct.
Please pray for Tommy!
Carlotta,
I hope you had a wonderful Birthday. I am so sorry about your husband’s young cousin. How awful to lose someone so young.
How is Jason doing? Does he have orders yet?
Where’s Wendy?? I hope she is Okay…and Nick...
Talk to you all soon,
Sheryl
