My baby is a Sailor.... It was sooooo wonderful to get a glimpse of her in the pic from the Gurnee News. Can't wait to see her and meet ya'll.... yeah,,, I'm from Texas. LOL>

Oh the blessed phone call! I'm so happy and proud! I don't know why I was so nervous waiting for that phone call!

I got my call! Natty is a sailor!!! I have 2 gal sailors now!!!! OMGosh I 'm so excited!! my baby is a sailor.....

I got my "I'm a sailor call" he is exhausted he said he's been up for 36 hours straight.

yes, but what makes it worst is the div.944 does not have a sister division, so the kids that have duty can't swap, there for we get out time shortened with them..

On Duty - basically, a certain percentage of the command has to be on board all the time - Not sure but I think it's 2 hours.
Part of Navy life. On a ship, in port for any length of time (at least from way back in the day) it was 20% - every 5th day you had to stay aboard -

What does having "duty" mean? Our son mentioned that he was told he will be leaving Sunday on a bus and our time will be shortened! I'm beginning to feel heart sick....
