Go Navy! My daughter is a senior in high school and has recently found out that she was awarded the NROTC scholarship to a CA university. She has just passed all the physical requirements and will start in the fall. We are so proud of her choice and now just pray that she can get through college with an engineering degree so she can move on to a great career in the Navy!

Hey all. Thanks for the prayers and thoughts this past Thursday as my daughter took her physical. She passed and has signed up and is officially in the DEP program. She leaves for BC on 072109. She will going in for AECF TEP.(Advanced Electronics). She is so excited. I was never so full of pride and sadness at the same time as I was when I got text msg that afternoon.

My son is in DEP. He is currently a senior in high school and will leave for boot camp on July 14. He will be a CM in the Seabees. We are so proud of him for making such a mature decision. His brother is already in the Navy. It will be tough with both of them gone. Not looking forwrd to that, but we know that they will both become better men because of the Navy. GO NAVY!!!!!

If all goes well today, my son will be sworn into the DEP and get his orders and sign his job contract.

My son graduates highschool in June and if all goes well today at MEPS, he will be in the DEP program and leave sometime in June or July. I will know by about 3:00 PM today what is going on. He wants to be an MA, but the are talking to him about Gunners Mate too as a secondary choice. All I know is that he was super excited and couldn't wait to go today, although he was somewhat nervous as well. He is only 17 and will be 18 in February. The DEP will allow him time to graduate highschool, start his DEP training with the recruiter and EXCERCISE, EXCERCISE, EXCERCISE. he's not too badly out of shape, 5'10' and 185 lbs. Needs to do lots and lots of sit-up, push-ups and running.

My boyfriend is taking his ASVAB test tomorrow too and his physical. After tomorrow he will be enlisted. He is planning to doing the DEP (delayed entry program) for about 8 months so he can get in shape for boot camp. What about your son sheri?
