Thank you Greenlo, I never thought of the sauna, he does go to the Y now and is running about 6 miles a day. I have been keeping the chicken and fish thing going, though he's getting a little tired of it he knows it's for the best!! Thank you for your advice! Does anyone have a child interested in the SEALS? This is what Ev is interested in doing-he was thinking the NUKE program but has since changed his mind, seems there are many of them out there and he has a cousin that's in the Army special forces bending his ear!! Good luck to all of you and your children as we all muddle through this!!!

Thank you MoonBlossom! My son wants to go into the NUKE program. He has wanted this for a couple months. I joined this site and went to the different NUKE boards to get info and to try and scare him. I know it sounds bad but he is so young and has never truly had to work hard in his life. My husband and I were just discussing this exact topic and we have decided that if this is what he wants from here on out it will be nothing but 100% support to get him through it. I guess I will get a call today with more info and if he swears in my husband who is a retired Chief is going to the ceremony.

SailorMom44: That is a great score! He should get the rate (job) he wants. We completly understand about feeling proud and nervous at the same time! Best wishes to your son with his Navy endeavors.

Just got a call from the recruiter and Josh got a 94 on his ASVAB. He is at the hotel and will go do his physical and meet with the classifier tomorrow. I am so proud but so nervous at the same time.

My youngest son is headed to MEPS tomorrow.... I can't believe even with one son already in the Navy I am more nervous than before!!! I guess because 1- this is my youngest and 2- because he set on being a NUKE and being retired Navy we know that is one of the hardest schools out there. We have tried our best to prepare him and now we just have to be parents.

OH MY! One more month-----Ev went down to MEPS after having monitored his weight for months-total of 85 pounds lost-he was 1% over the body fat requirement. Any secret tips to get that body fat down quickly!?

It is a wonderful thing when they come home and try to teach US how to fold laundry! LOL

Also, I have some of his old voice mails saved on my cell phone...so I hear his voice all the time! ;)
