HI...My son just arrive in Norfolk on saturday from Pensacola......I understand they could be very busy getting registered and settled there.....So does anybody know what could be happening there....I do not know what his rating is....the last time I talk to him was last week tuesday...but had e-mail that he was there on saturday.....He says he is suppose to be on ship by the 25......Any body elaborate on this?..Or better yet have a son or daughter that is going thru the same thing?...I am in California.......Thanks

I am in Gnadenhutten, OH and will be going back to college at Kent State. I am a senior but have not been to school since '94. Boy have they changed, will have to learn to do things high tech now. LOL Are you from OH?

Don't know hgow I do this but it has happened twice now...
Hope your son found a place to stay...I have two sons there now...One is based in Norfolk and the other at Oceana, Va Beach....Take care,

Hi, Navy moms! My son needs some help. He's a GM off the Roosevelt who has been in Afghanistan for almost a year. He just got home and will be assigned to Great Lakes in February. He's on his way to Norfolk right now and needs a place to stay till January 27. Do any of your sailors have a couch to rent? He said he doesn't need a room necessarily as he doesn't have much stuff with him. Most of it is in storage in Norfolk or in my basement till he goes to Great Lakes.

Hi Everone,
My son is an MA, and he's been in Norfolf since aug 1,08, after he graduated san antonio, tx. I've been there to visit him, cause it's only 7 hrs from me. Ilive in NY. It's a really nice base and big. So far he likes it alot he guards the gates and the ships, he has shore duty right now.
