Hey Wendy, hang in there and I know it is hard to not be able to do anything for your son but he will be fine. Once he gets situated he will be ok, it is just another transition that our sailors must go through. Hang in there and try to keep your chin up for him. My son got his official orders and he will be on the USS Enterprise out of Norfolk, VA. I was afraid he would be really disappointed because he wanted to be on a submarine but he seems ok with being on the carrier. Wendy, just remember we are here for you.........

Thanks Jon. It's just so hard to hear him sounding depressed like that. Especially afer he did soooo well all through nuke school.

Hi Gang! Kelly, glad you had a good cruise! We still definitely need to try to get a group together for one.
My son finished his nuke prototype in New York and got his orders to the USS Abe Lincoln in Everett, WA, and he reported on Oct. 7. He and his girlfriend have an apt. in Everett, but the ship has been in the shipyard in Bremerton, which is a 2 hour commute by bus/ferry. Just this last week, they decided that the nukes in the reactor division have to live on the ship while it's in Bremerton. I don't think I've ever heard him sound so depressed! I can't stop crying and just want to fly out there and bring him back home! It's a mom thing, I guess. I just want him to be happy. He did so well all through nuke school, graduated at the top of his class, and was really happy through school, and now he just sounds so depressed and unhappy. Ughhh!!

Hey my happy hour gang, well I just got back from my cruise and it was GREAT! We all definitely need to do a singles cruise together. We hit some rough waters but for the most part everything was great, the food, entertainment, and I slept like a baby. We will have to get together so I can tell you all about it.

Hey Happy Hour gang, sorry I haven't been on here lately but I get myself involved with Facebook and by the time I want to take the time to come and visit you all in here it is bedtime for me. We will have to plan a night to get together and have some drinks. I leave for my cruise in 4 days so I will let you all know how it was. I am soooooo looking forward to this vacation. My son will be home for 4 days this weekend so what a send off I will have. Miss you all. Jon hope all is well with you, should do miss talking to ya!!!!!
