Dawn, I'm so sorry......I know you emailed me & I forgot all about it....please forgive me:-( I've just been so BUSY!!! Ashley is doing good and will be home for New Years. We're going to drive down to Norfolk for a couple of days so she can visit some of her Navy friends. She also wants to go to AC so she can celebrate her turning 21:o) How are Meaghan and Christopher? Will they be coming home for the holidays?

Sue, I received this email from the Chosin this morning. I emailed him again and let him know there are more packages on the way. Hopefully the Chosin will be in port the next time I go to Hawaii.

Ms. xxxxxxxx,

We were lucky enough to have a big replenishment of stores. Among that was a lot of mail. I received a grand total of 14 boxes today. Some were labeled “USS NIMITZ Holiday Project”; some had “Navy for Moms” on them; a couple did not have anything labeled on them and were not from anyone that I recognized as family of crew members. It came at a great opportunity as we have our Thanksgiving here tomorrow and this will be a great way to spread some joy to our crew here.

I appreciate the support of the organization and the thoughts supporting us and my shipmates out here during the holidays away from our families.

Warm Regards,
CMDCM(SW) John Ullery

Well hello eveyone its been awhile since I've been here. Has some of you know who are on my personal friend list I had a death in the family. My mother pass away this pass friday Nov. 20th. She lived in Puerto Rico. I just got back yesterday. It was not easy for us. My brother and didn't get a chance to say goodbye to her. It was a masive heart attack. The one who had it worst was our sister who found her. Its not easy especially around the hoildays. My son was able to get leave from his command so he arrived also yesterday to be with me. I am so greatful to them for letting him come home for this. I surely needed my son here with me it helps a whole lot. To all of you who send your thoughts and prayers thankyou. Thankyou for being my extended family.

Sue, I hope so but we should be okay. We sent nearly 7000 stockings and goody bags. Since the project was so sucessful we decided to make this an annual event. Each year we will adopt a deployed Carrier Strike Group.

Pat - do you know if they got enough stockings out? Just wondering.
My son has not been home for a holiday either but always has something to do. This year will be the same but the sailors all seem to take care of eachother.
