Hi Solomon'mom

If I can remember correct I think I received the letter a week after I got the box, which has his ship number and his PIR date on it.

You may want to check out these 2 groups on here they always have very good info Boot Camp Moms and New Members Stop Here.  Hope this helps you.

Also, once you find out your sailor's ship there should be a group for it which you can join it's really great info on it.

Have a great weekend.

Maybe someone from here can help me, how long after your SR get to boot camp do you receive what ship or division he's in.  I received his box with his belongings on Monday.  He's been there for 10 days if anyone knows please let me know.

Solomon's mom, you will get a form letter shortly and if you are lucky, your son will write a short note on it. :) It took about 2 weeks for the first letter to arrive since the mail person will have to be trained and the SR's don't have much time during P-days. They may get a phonecall in week 3 or 4, but don't count on anything. And yes, will head up th GL  for PIR. Can't wait to see them!

Yes I am on Oahu. I met up with one of my son's friends mom who is also on here, we chatted for a while, she gave me some information of what and when or where to go also, thanks.  Are you headed to GL 808mom?  I've been writing letters since the day he left, already to mail out just waiting on where it goes now, it's only been 3 days, seems like forever though.  How did you get pass the first week?  I do keep myself busy with my other kids.  Oh I know what I wanted to ask how long before you got a letter from your son?

Aloha, Solomon's mom, My son flew out to GL on June 26 and we are part of PIR 8/24. 9 more days and we get to see them! You should get a short phone call soon to inform you that they arrived, the box can take a while. Do join Bootcamp moms on N4M to start with, after a while you will find moms with the same PIR date as yours and they usually form a wonderful group with invaluable information and support. Glad you found our little Hawaii group and just ask away! Are you on Oahu?

Aloha everyone I am new my son flew out of Hawaii on 8/14, I've been browsing this website and ask in the main chat room if there was a group for Hawaii moms so I checked it out.  I would love any information of what to expect in the next few weeks or actually how long before I get the package with his belongings.
